Nidhala - Some outfit stuff

I know, I know, I'm supposed to be focusing on that commission list. But hear me out. I have a bit of a one track mind- if I go to bed having decided that tomorrow is going to be a working day, I can wake up and work 12, 14 hours no problem. But if I think I'm going to be getting a day off and something changes, I can't for the life of me make myself be productive. There's a lot of inertia behind my mental state, it seems.

Well today, I expected to be largely out of commission, so I didn't plan on working. Had a doctor's appointment in the morning (don't worry, nothing is wrong, just small stuff). The problem is, my sleep schedule is kinda screwed up- I go to bed in the morning. The appointment was just a few hours after when I normally go to bed, so what I did was just not go to bed. I figured there's no way I'd be able to get a decent sleep so I'd be tired and useless all day, but even though it was at entirely the wrong time for my sleep pattern I managed to get a few good hours of sleep when I got home and ended up still having decent energy most of the day. But the decision had been made, I wasn't in the headspace for proper work, so I decided to fiddle around with some 3D stuff instead. 

It's still productive stuff- it looks like y'all voted to have Nidhala in this month's animation, so I took the time to update her rig a little and add in some of the better rigging methods I've learned since I made her. Should remove some of the more troublesome or tedious aspects of animating her, which will be a time saver in the upcoming animation so it sorta pays for itself! I also wasn't super fond of the clothing I had made for her, and really wanted the outfit I made for her initial ref sheet for some reason ( https://www.furaffinity.net/view/38185824/ ), so I quickly tossed that together as well. I don't know how much of it will be used in the upcoming animation, assuming it's still the winner when I close up the voting, but it's still nice to have.

So here's some shots of the outfit in a few of the permutations of it's various bits that I thought might be fun to see. Unsurprisingly, that bottomless shot is kinda mmmmm. I might have to whip up a quick something something featuring that for FA.

While I'm at it, I also tossed in something else I started fiddling with a few month's back. Being a girl who likes big powerful machines, I couldn't help but see Nidhala as a motorcycle kind of gal, so I started toying with putting together a riding outfit for her. This is as far as I got before other stuff got in the way. We might never see it go all the way to a finished outfit, but that shiny black leather is still a good look for her I think.

Anyway, that's what I did today instead of the stuff I probably should have.
