Twisted Truth Part 4

Twisted Truth Part 4

As the day slowly turns to evening, Joe hunkers down in his car seat as they drive through town. Seeing clearly the strain and anxiety of being dressed plastered across his face, a part of her wanted to go easy on him for old time's sake.

“Leanne….,” Joe says timidly, looking out the car window at the busy streets. “How long are we planning to stay out tonight?”

Leanne quickly glances and smiles at him as he hides in his seat.

“I dunno baby girl,” she unsympathetically replies. “Until I’m holding back your hair as you vomit maybe..?”

“Are you serious?” Joe asks in fear. “I’m all for getting a few drinks down me to make this easier, but I don’t know if I want to be out that long!”

Leanne smirks as she takes a left in the car.

“I bet you’ll change your tune…,” she giggles, slowing down as they enter a busier part of the town.

Joe peeks his head up from cover and looks out the window. Then he turns to shake his head at Leanne. “I-I don’t think so. This is kinda scary.”

“Scary…?” Leanne questions with a straight face, trying to hold back a snigger. “Really…. I wouldn’t worry too much. You’ll be believing you’re the prettiest girl in the room after a few nice compliments from guys and the free drinks they will inevitably get you.”

“You said nothing….a-about guys..!?” Joe threats, sinking further into his seat.

“Didn’t I…!?” Leanne replies sarcastically, giving a false shocked expression. “That’s what a girl's night is all about baby. We get all pretty and we flirt for free drinks.”

“You said we were going out for dinner!?” Joe squeaks in frustration, nervously pulling at his tight clothing. “Now you're talking about drinks and guys! Leanne…I’m really worried about this. What if someone sees me and recognizes me?”

Glancing quickly in Joe’s direction, Leanne pulls the car into a surface car park. Bringing the car to a stop, she turns off the ignition.

“Joe,” she says sternly, looking at him as he tries to hide in his seat. “Answer me this.”

“Answer you what!?” Joe rapidly snarls in reply, still hiding in his seat.

Leanne holds back her anger and taps the steering wheel of the car with her fingers. Allowing a few seconds to space, she forces a smile.

“I know you’re nervous about this,” she asserts through gritted teeth. “I’m confused why you, a wannabe and very passable crossdresser, are so nervous. Is there possibly something you’d like to share with me before we get out of this car?”

Tension fills the air as Leanne stares at Joe with fury in her eyes. She’s more than happy for him to tell her the truth, but she wonders if he’s big enough to admit it.

“Errr…..um…….,” Joe stutters, avoiding eye contact at all costs. “No-nothing to tell. As I said, I’m just a little scared.”

Reaching for the car door handle, Leanne’s eye twitches.

“Coward,” Leanne softly mumbles as she pushes the car door open.

Standing in the evening air, the buildings are brushed with warm colors by the sun setting twilight. Moving around to the passenger side, Leanne opens Joe’s door and looks inside.

“Come on,” Leanne grunts, feeling disdain for her boyfriend.

“Erm…,” Joe mumbles, flinching as the door opens. “…no thanks.”

Leanne lowers her head and lets out a long breath.

“You stay in here,” she huffs, standing back to give him room to get out of the passenger seat. “I’m leaving you’re here all night.”

“Fine!” Joe grumbles, placing a nervous heel onto the concrete floor.

Like a baby dear, Joe looks awkward as he fumbles to get out of the car in his tight dress. Desperately trying to keep himself covered, he struggles and wobbles on his heels as he stands.

“Well….,” Leanne derisively chuckles, leaning her body against the open car door. “You’ll have to be a bit more graceful than that tonight. You made that look really difficult.”

“Shut up Lee,” he groans, quickly pulling down his skirt to cover his legs. “I don’t know why I have to be the one wearing the dress.”

“Cos….end of!” Leanne sarcastically retorts.

Joe shrugs then looks down at himself and sighs. “This is the dress you wore on our first date….isn't it?” He asks softly, completely changing his demeanor.

Allowing her mouth to slightly drop, Leanne is very surprised he’s remembered that.

“Y-yeah….,” Leanne answers slowly. “Yeah, it is. I’m very surprised you remember that.”

Joe shrugs again as he leans up against the car for support. “It’s all I’ve been thinking about.”

Leanne gives him a puzzled look as she gently closes the car door. Locking it, she leans up against the car next to him.

“I….err,” Joe stutters, being very aware that he’s in a dress out in public. “I….um…remember thinking how lovely you looked wearing this lovely dress.”

Pulling at the tight part around his waist, Joe gives Leanne an awkward grin in hopes she’d look back on that night fondly.

“It was a lovely evening…,” Leanne replies softly, brushing hair behind her ear. “I do really like that dress.”

Joe looks down at his feet in the heels and sticks one foot out in front of them. He waves his foot around for Leanne to notice.

“You looked good in heels like these too,” he smirks, as the heel gently clicks on the floor as he lowers his foot.

“I do like those shoes,” Leanne quips. “Please don’t break them.”

Joe then instantly turns and steadies himself by holding onto Leanne’s arm. She looks up at him in bewilderment.

“You do look so absolutely amazing in this dress and these heels…don’t you?” Joe asks, his face soaked with desperation.

“Yeah—and…?” Leanne questions, looking down annoyed at his hand grabbing her tight.

Easing off with his grip, Joe points at the outfit she has on.

“I know we haven’t been out anywhere in a while,” Joe continues, talking at a million miles an hour. “Tonight, you could be the one feeling like the prettiest girl in the room! Wouldn’t that be amazing!?”

Leanne drops a shoulder and tilts her head. “…aren’t I always though?” she replies sarcastically.

Joe franticly and nervously nods in agreement, before looking her straight in the eye.

“I want you to feel happy!” he stresses, flicking the hair that’s fallen in front of his face. “Why don’t we swap outfits tonight!?”

Leanne rolls her eyes and sighs. She wonders if he thinks she’s that stupid.

“Don’t be like that!” Joe protests, reacting to her expression. “This killer dress and sexy heels are completely wasted on me! It’s a win for us both. You get to look super glamorous and I get to wear pants and feel more comfortable! What d’ya say!?”

“Oh baby…,” Leanne mockingly replies, reaching to run her fingers through Joe’s long hair. “That sounds lovely….but you're forgetting something.”

“What….what am I forgetting?” Joe anxiously replies.

“Tonight all about your baby girl!” Leanne giggles, stepping back away from his desperation. “I want you to know how sexy that dress makes you feel. What kinda girlfriend would I be if I stole that thunder from you!?”

“No, no, no…!” Joe swiftly answers, hiding his frustration behind a wry smile. “I’m ok with it babe. I want you to feel good about yourself. What kinda boyfriend would I be if I don’t let my girl feel sexy!?

Leanne just raises a single finger and holds it over her pursed lips. Shaking her head, she gentle smiles.

“Baby girl…,” she says softly. “Stepping towards him and holding him by the waist with both hands, as he’s done to her in the past. “You’re not my boyfriend anymore.”

Both silent and with Leanne still holding his waist, the two stare into each other's eyes. Neither one of them wanted to give anything away.

Leanne wasn’t lying, she’d decided hours ago that it’s over between them.

Joe wasn’t sure what was happening…he assumed she was joking, but her expression was telling him overwise.

“W-wha….,” Joe mutters.

“Tonight!” Leanne intentionally interrupts him, putting that same finger to his lips. “You are my girlfriend!”

“Ooooh……..,” Joe nervously chuckles, pushing her finger from his lips. “Girlfriend…right….,” he continues, rubbing the back of his arm.

Leanne takes a moment to enjoy his suffering. She knows the snake deserves it.

“Shall we go then!?” she chirps, instantly faking a wide grin. “We are going to the Flamingo Bar. It’s just over the road!”

Instantly, Joe’s awkward laughing stops, and his mouth drops open.

“You mean…..,”

“Yup,” Leanne swiftly answers, cutting him off again. “It’s the LGBTQ place. I’d suggest we’d be more welcome there as a couple right now.”

“T-this….is really…,” Joe sighs and rubs his face. “This is really happening…isn’t it?”

Leanne gives him a massive grin and grabs hold of his sweaty palm.

“You better believe it baby girl!” she joyfully cheers, pulling him away from the safety of the car. “This is going to be so …..interesting!”

Stumbling in his heels as he follows behind, he shivers at the prospect of the evening.

“Yeah….,” he says sarcastically to himself, looking around and hoping he’s not seen. “Interesting….that's not the word I’d use.”
