Sorry this has taken so long. Been working on loads of stuff recently.
Part 6
Standing at the side of the road, a mile from my house, I couldn’t help but feel vulnerable. Wearing my sister’s short shorts and tank top, I felt like the whole world was looking at me. The only solace I had was the large backpack, that I try and hide my body behind.
Pulling my phone, from the back pocket of my shorts, I check the time. I’d managed to convince my parents to let me go and stay at Barry’s house this weekend. Little did they know I’d packed a whole bag of my sister's makeup and clothing.
Pressing my wig down on my head, as the wind breezes through it, I couldn’t help but growl at the situation Matt had got me in. I couldn’t quite believe I’d agreed to be his girlfriend this weekend. All I knew, was that if he try to kiss me….i’d knock his block off!
Thankfully, I watch as Matt’s Mom’s car pulls around the corner. As the station wagon pulls up beside me, I see his Mom grinning at me like a crazy person. As far as she knew, Matt was spending the weekend with his first girlfriend.
I roll my eyes at that thought. If only they knew who I was really.
I narrow my eyes and give Matt a dirty look. As I do, the window winds down and Helen gives me a wide grin.
“Hello sweetheart!” she greets me with glee.
Before I even get a second to answer, Helen has turned back to face Matt in the rear of the car.
“Matt,” she growls. “Get out of the car and help your girlfriend put her bags in the trunk.”
I see Matt huff and reluctantly get out of the car. I move around the back of the car and he helps me put my bag in the back.
“You look nice,” he whispers. “Don’t let that wig fall off… will you!”
“Shut up…. you jerk,” I growl as I punch him lightly in the shoulder.
“Is everything ok back there?” Helen calls back through the car.
“Mom!” Matt groans embarrassed. “We are fine, stop fussing!”
Matt shuts the trunk and we both climb into the back of the car. I do my best to cover my bare legs and bare chest.
“Matt’s not told me much about you…..,” Helen says leaning back and smiling at me. “You’re a pretty young thing…aren’t you.”
Blushing, I turn away. Not wanting her to look at my face for too long.
“Thank you,” I answer as she looks at me expectantly.
Helen quickly turns to Matt and grins. “Make sure you look after her,” she demands. “I’m trusting you to be a gentleman. Don’t let your family down.”
Turning to look at each other, we both look extremely uncomfortable with the situation. All this to seem cool, I’m not sure it’s worth it. Still, part of this was like a dream coming true. I never thought I’d be passable like this. Not even his Mom could tell who I was.
Helen turns back in her seat and puts the car in gear. As she pulls away, Matt reaches over and puts his hand on my knee.
I quickly brush it away and stare daggers back at him. He smiles and leans over to me.
“Dude,” he asks quietly. “You look flat between your legs, how is that possible?”
Fidgeting in my seat as remember just how crushed everything is between my legs, I whisper back “Don’t’ ask.”
The journey goes very painfully slow. Every so often Helen would ask me questions about my life. I hated lying through my teeth at her, but needs must
To avoid more questions, I grab my phone and start playing games. Eventually, we pull up at a cabin in the woods, facing a beautiful lake. Being early spring, the weather was warm and it made this place look very inviting.
Pulling up, Barry’s father waits outside to greet us. Helen quickly exits the car and goes over to talk to him.
“Matt,” I say insistently. “I didn’t know this place has a lake.”
“Neither did I,” he responds. “Did you bring swimwear?”
I shake my head. “No, I did not!” I growl. “There’s no way I’d be able to hide my….y’know….in a swimsuit.”
“Don’t worry about it Nathan,” he says pushing the car door open. “I won’t let it get that far. I don’t want you to get found out either. It would ruin us both.”
“Good,” I nod as I open my door.
As we both grab our bags from the trunk, Barry’s father comes over to greet us. I have to say, it was fun being referred to as a pretty girl. As much as I was nervous about being caught, I knew I had to enjoy the little things while I could.
Barry’s father showed us to our room, which was a twin bedroom. Annoyed that when even had to share a room, at least it wasn’t a double bed. As we said our goodbyes to Helen, we both got shown into the living room, where Lara and Barry were playing Xbox.
As Lara spotted me, she came rushing over and screamed a greeting at my face. I wasn’t used to such a hyper-girly welcome, but I tried my best to reciprocate.
“How you doing Sonya!” She screeches as she grabs my hand and pulls me over to one of the two sofas in the middle of the room. “I’m so happy you are here. You don’t know how boring these weekends can be.”
“Well, if you were any good at this shooting, it wouldn’t be boring,” Barry snorts as he looks up from his game, as sits on the other sofa facing the TV.
I like what your wearing “Lara comments as she sits me down right next to her. “Did you bring your swimwear?”
As those words hit my ear, I feel my heart start racing. Matt strolls over and takes a seat next to Barry and doesn’t care to notice how uncomfortable I’m becoming.
“Nah,” I say blushing
“Oh,” Lara remarks as I watch the cogs in her mind turn. “That’s ok, I think I’ve got some swimwear you can borrow.”
Giving her an awkward smile, I slowly turn to look at Matt in panic. My eyes are wide and full of terror.
“That’s great….,” I say between gritted teeth. “Matt didn’t tell me we’d be swimming!” I Growl at him in annoyance.
“Matty boy,” Barry laughs as he pauses his game. “I think your girl is a little mad at you.”
Matt could see how annoyed I was. He could see the fear in my eyes. We’d be rumbled for sure. Scratching the back of his head, he lets out a nervous laugh.
“Errr,” Matt laughs awkwardly. “Sorry Sonya, did I not tell you?”
Getting a little frustrated at him, I grit my teeth tighter.
“No!” I growled between my teeth. “No, you didn’t”
A silence falls over the entire group as neither Matt nor I really know’s what to say or do. Then, in an instant, Barry pushes Matt off the other sofa towards me, with force.
“Say sorry,” Barry insists as Matt tumbling towards me. “Give your girl a kiss and make-up.” He continues.
Matt catches himself on the arm of the sofa. Standing just inches away from me, we both look at each other with sheer panic in our eyes.
“Nah, I’m ok,” I declare with a smile, waving Matt away.
“No, come on,” Lara says pushes me on my back towards Matt. “We’ve already said you can borrow my stuff, so don’t let your boy's stupidity ruin the mood. Kiss him and makeup.”
She pushes me so hard, I have to stop myself from falling flat. Steadying myself with the arm of the sofa, our eyes lock together and I can see the worry on his face. He wasn’t the only one worried. I didn’t want to kiss him…not at all.
“Kiss,” Lara says insistently with her hand firmly pushing me in Matt's direction. “I don’t want you guys falling out.”
Neither of us wanted to kiss but we certainly didn’t want to arouse suspicion. I could see the nervous sweat beading down Matt’s face as we push in towards each other. Matt closes his eyes and puckers his lips, as he braces for our makeup kiss.
“Have you guys….even kiss before?” Lara Questions as I hesitate.
Spurred on by not wanting to be caught, I also lean in towards him. All I could think, as I closed my eyes and prepared for our lips to touch, was that my very first kiss was going to be with my best friend.
Matt's warm moist lips lock over mine, with his top lips between mine. In a split second, he kisses me softly and pulls away. I could still taste him on my lips as I open my eyes and Matt’s staring back at me bright red.
“All made up now,” Lara giggles as she jumps up off the sofa.
Matt just continues to stare back at me as our blushing faces show our embarrassment. I could tell he could taste the flavored lip balm I’d used. I think it was messing with both of our heads.
Mouthing to him, I tell him he owes me big time. He nods in agreement.
“Now you two have kissed and made up,” Lara says, as she stands behind the sofa and makes us both jump. “What do you guys want to do now?”
Rubbing my sweaty brow, I turn to face her and smile.
“I dunno,” I answer. “What do you guys want to do?”
