2026-02-01 01:16:21 +0000 UTCPrewatch- Will give it a shot. :) How bad could it really be.. Postwatch- Pushing 60 in this case means that he was in his late 50's. I don't remember this story as presented in episodes, but then again, it is based on a comic book series. Looking at some of the original artwork, it is quite dark, with minimal color, which is reflected in the film's stylization. The genre of the comic book, and I suppose the movie as well, is based on crime detective magazines (also known as pulp fiction), which were known to be at times lurid, exploitive, sensational, and popular into the 1950's. They got their name from the cheap wood pulp they were printed on, unlike glossy magazines. The film itself oozes with Frank Miller's style, as best the director could capture on screen. The story itself is quite disturbing, confusing at times, and ultimately unfufilling. Of course, Alba in the trailers was one of the main draws. Now this other subject... He pushed her away and told her that what they were doing was beyond wrong. In the end, he said he lied to her, knowing he would take himself out and trade his life for hers so that she would leave. BTW, at the time this was filmed (2004), Jessica Alba was 23, and Bruce Willis was 49. Seems like old Hollywood returned. This movie was certainly packed with stars, including Elijah Wood (Frodo, LoTR), Rutger Hauer (Etienne, Ladyhawke), Benicio del Toro (Franky Four Fingers, Snatch), and Josh Hartnett (SSG Matt Eversmann, Black Hawk Down), just to name a few that Biss has reacted to before.
