I get not loving Jim's acting style but put yourself in Truman's position. He thought he was losing his mind or something beyond understanding was going on. He would be deeply agitated once he started figuring out what was going on.

So the Truman Show is from 1998 and the very same year there was another one called "Pleasantville" - you must watch it if you haven't done so yet, and then look in the mirror and tell us what you see! 😜

There was another film around this time with a similar theme called “EdTV” which has largely been forgotten. It stars Matthew McConaughey and it was directed by Ron Howard.
