Burger King became a franchise in 1954. Technically 1959 when it was rebranded after the company was purchased changing the name from Insta-Burger King.

The movie on the TV at 16:21 is “It’s A Wonderful Life” (considered one of the most beloved Christmas movies of all time (although it barely has Christmas in it until the famous ending scenes).

Luigi Mangioni? Biss you have issues.

That movie sure brings out some nostalgia. Happy you liked it Biss. The writer of this movie was Chris Columbus, who not only directed timeless movies e.g. Mrs. Doubtfire or Harry Potter 1& 2 or Home Alone but also wrote the script for The Goonies or Young Sherlock Holmes (which is also a fun movie to watch).

I really enjoyed this movie. Some ran dumb thoughts: 1) Billy/Zach looks nothing like Luigi Mangione. 2) When I was younger, I was a lot like Billy’s personality. Back when I was more Sweetish than I am today. 3) I love Jerry Goldsmith’s film scores. He can switch from tenderness to terror on a dime. 4) Phoebe Cates was and is so lovely. Back then, she was the dream girl for many of us. She was like the babysitter who was a few years older than you that you had a crush on, yet you knew you didn’t have a chance with. LOL 5) Hoyt Axton was a really prolific songwriter with songs like “Never Been To Spain”, “The Pusher”, “The No No Song”, to mention but a few. 6) Did I mention that Phoebe Cates is lovely? ☺️

My girlfriend saw this for the first time about fifteen years back and when she saw the gremlins in action she was like "I found my tribe." (There's a whole story where she used painters tape to attach mistle toe to the blades of the ceiling fan in our living room and then forgot she had done it, hours later she turned the fan on for the light. It looked like someone killed an alien Christmas octopus and hung it from our ceiling as a warning to others. I still tell that story every holiday season of why there are gouges in our ceiling.) I still smile every time Mrs. Peltzer goes Ham on the gremlins in the kitchen. Film goes from 0 to 100 in one damned scene. Most bad ass movie house wife of the 80's. "Where did he get a gun?" It's a town in 1980's USA, the real question is why didn't they all have guns? You saw they sold them in department stores back then. This was actually Rated PG (Parental guidance suggested – Some material may not be suitable for children) in the same year the PG-13 rating (rated for ages 13 and up) came out. So many families with kids were going to see this film thinking it was fine for their children age 5-12. Gives you a little insight into the psyche of our generation. This was a damned kids film. Great Reaction, Biss, thanx.

I am glad you really enjoyed this movie! Gremlins is one of my all time favorites! Also, while it is not a Christmas movie, the sequel Gremlins 2, is a lot of fun and has a lot more chaos and comedy. I think you'd really like the 2nd movie. And I hope someday you react to the 2nd movie! Also fun fact, Gremlins (along with Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, both released in 1984) was a primary reason for creating the PG-13 rating, as their PG ratings contained violence and intensity considered too much for young kids but not enough for an R, prompting director Steven Spielberg to suggest the new middle-ground rating to the MPAA.
