The lights in the hotel that kept Forrest awake was a reference to the break in of the Democratic National HQ, located in the Watergate hotel. The break in was done by operatives working for the appropriately named Committee to ReElect the President or CREEP for short. President Nixon engaged in a cover up and the scandal that followed caused him to be the first American President to resign.

Jenny is the villain of Forest Gump. Remember also that Jenny is in her late thirties (at best) around the time she supposedly got pregnant by Forest.

I feel like Apollo 13 is the companion piece to this movie, just because of Tom Hanks and Gary Sinise. But I also hope you'll react to Braveheart, because as far as tear jerkers go, thats up there with the best of them

Liked and subscribed! hahaha. you arent alone, i hated Jenny. The part where he called on those people in the hotel with flashlights, it was people who were ordered by President Nixon to spy/wiretap the other party or groups rooms and phonelines. He resigned because of that scandal.
