I've always seen Violet asking the major what his orders are as her way of telling him she loves him, even if she didn't understand that that was what she was doing. She didn't understand the emotions she was having back then, but she subconsciously showed the major what her feelings were through her actions and waiting for orders from him.
I almost got through this episode without crying, but when Hodgins started crying at the end and gave that stirring speech, I lost it πππππ
I'm glad our baby girl is back and knows that she is seen and appreciated π₯²
Also, nice touch with the parallels between Violet and Thorfinn
