Arcane Episode 4 - Uncut

A couple points I like to drop for people's consideration about the end of episode 3: 1. If Powder didn't use the monkeybomb, Deckard would have broken in and killed everybody. Why? They are 3 stories up. You can see how high up they are very briefly in the shot when Vander carries Vi out through the hole Claggor made. 2. Even if Vi had come back, for her, there were 4 thugs along with Silco, armed with weapons. Vi was only able to defeat them because she had Vander's gauntlets. Unarmed? She would not stand a chance, and then the both of them would be taken in by Silco.

You've probably learned a lot more about Silco by now, but I'll leave you with some thoughts I have about him based on Episode 3 and based on some of his actions later on. At the end of Episode 3, when he attempts to comfort Powder, this moment I don't think was entirely based on ill intent or malice. I think in this moment specifically, he resonated a lot with her circumstance. How he himself parted ways with Vander and felt as though he lost a brother and how Powder ended up losing her sister. I think he felt they were on common ground and while on the surface it appears that he took advantage of that, I don't believe that's the whole truth. He likely sees himself in her and he cares about what she's been through because he's experienced the same thing. You've probably already noticed this, but I think Silco truly thinks of her as his family and probably started to consider this the moment he took her in. They have what some would probably call a trauma bond. That bond, while it is pretty toxic overall, it creates a deep connection to the other person. Even if Silco and Jinx's relationship is very off putting sometimes, it makes sense and it honestly makes Silco, in my eyes, a much more interesting and nuanced character. It proves that even a man like Silco, in all his anger and toxicity, is still just a person. Evil is how some would describe him, but I think evil and goodness can exist at the same time, in the same person.
