Einar is so in love lol. He's so cute. It's such a man moment, it's like kind of a meme already that when men get a compliment they'll remember it 8 years later still. I totally get Einar here. Glad to see Einar and Thorfinn are growing some wheat and getting closer to buying themselves out. Love how much of a friends they have become over the time they've spent together. I first wasn't too sure about Einar but he really grew on me and they make a great duo together. And here comes Olmar's brother, Thorgil. A clearly accomplished warrior and a person who has a number of kills under his belt. Way different than Olmar, who is a coward and a spoiled brat. He puts on a brave face, but it's clear what kind of person he really is. You can really see Ketil doesn't want to punish children. He's so happy and cheerful towards them. He almost even started to cry about their story. Iron Fist Ketil doesn't really fit him at all. He doesn't like it, but he can't not punish them, especially in front of someone like Thorgil who believes Ketil to be someone strong. Pater is so fair. They just can't go free. It sucks to see it, but it is what it is. You could even see how much it pained Snake, before he gave the stick over. I'm glad it was Ketil who had to do it, even if it breaks my heart. I'm just glad it wasn't someone like Snake or Thorgil who did it. It would've been even worse. To be fair, I don't think Arnheid likes likes Einar, but she definitely sees him as a friend at the very least. I feel like the love here is one-sided. You can really tell Thorfinn is so haunted by his past and it just keeps on getting worse over time. He really needs to find peace already and come to terms with his life and put his past behind him. Not forget it, but accept it. I'm glad Thorfinn finally gets to talk to someone about it, open up, get it off his chest. And he's right. He is empty, but that's not always a bad thing like you and Swerkel said. If you're empty you can fit anything in that hole in your heart. You can learn. You can change. I'm glad there's people who can understand and appreciate the meaning of these kind of things, instead of just going "fighting cool, talking boring". I feel so bad for Einar and Thorfinn, all that work, sweat, blood and tears, everything gone. I also love the reflection from Thorfinn here, accepting that what he did in the past was bad and if Einar were to get angry at someone, he should get angry at him too, because he's not that different from the retainers who destroyed his crops. Glad to see Thorfinn trying to solve things without violence though. Sadly it didn't work out this time. But he was protecting something precious to him. He just didn't realize it himself yet.
