Canute coming in with big dick energy. Compared to season 1 Canute, he's a whole different person. Canute had Eadric and pretty much the entirety of Mercia by the balls even before the negotiations started. Insane to think this is the same man who was opposed to violence and war, now poisoning people and ready to burn down entire counties. The power he holds now is massive. The power of the crown. It's also worth noting that as the guy said to Thorkell, Sweyn waged war against them for years and never managed to claim it, while Canute did it in way less time. It's kinda like saying that Canute has become even worse than his dad Sweyn ever was. And his dad was a massive dick.
Overall, love the focus of this episode to fully be on Canute, don't usually see shows take the focus away from the main character for an entire episode unless it's filler or something.
So we are finally back on the farm and Einar and Thorfinn are working hard. It's also great to see Thorfinn have a bit more life in him, he's a little bit more emotional now.
I love Sverkel. He's a fair character. They do some work for him, he gives them a horse to use. Most other slaves wouldn't even be able to dream of this. It's always good to see there's good people out there, people who are good to people regardless what their past is or what their current situation is.
And then there's people who can't stand having other people have something nice.
Snake is also such a great character. Love how Sverkel and Snake both play off of eachother.
Our overgrown baby finally starts to learn life besides war. He finally has a friend. I cried.
