I won’t pretend that writing the second part of Chapter 3 wasn’t a struggle, because it absolutely was.
This unpublished section marks a turning point in the story. It opens the gateway to the revenge path, where the MC will uncover a number of secrets—each one more devastating than the last—that will completely shatter their worldview.
Overall, I’d say the scene I struggled with most was the one involving Sascha. I needed to ensure their fake personality came across as genuine enough to convince the MC that they weren’t aware the information they just shared reveals T wasn’t the only one involved in Lady Anaya’s death.
This scene also allowed us to explore a small but significant detail: Sascha’s admission of their blindness—and their ability to perceive the color of a person’s soul.
Tomorrow, I’ll either start Chapter 4 or take a short break before diving in. In the coming week, you can expect a “What to Expect” update detailing what’s included in the new release, as well as my writing plans. I’ll also be answering some asks then.
