After failing to slay the gorgon and medusa letting her go free, Chrysus was stuck and conflicted on what to do next. Being allowed to live didn't match the stories of a ruthless bloodthirsty monster, and the image stuck in her mind of Medusa wasn't as hideous as described; Chrysus thought the gorgon was beautiful and was enthralled.
It was foolish but chrysus wanted to try make peace and perhaps offerings were a good first step, although what to give a gorgon was another question. With only gifts and no weapons, she was determined to gain Medusa's attention.
Chrysus is on a mission and ready with her first attempt.
