According to the producers, they already had shot some of the footage of the paramedic (Michael) watching the ambulance van drive off when H20 was made in case of a sequel. Moustapha Akkad never intended H20 to be the ending of the franchise and Jamie Lee almost quit the movie unless they edited the movie to at least make it seem like Michael was killed off. No joke, the studio held an online poll online in 1999 to ask fans if they wanted a sequel to Halloween 3 (or a similar anthology approach) or a sequel to H20, and the voting results are history. When Jamie Lee was asked to come back, she asked for her character to be killed off out of frustration since H20 was her idea of an ending. The movie was made by the same guy who made the original Halloween 2, but studio meddling is clearly visible in the final cut. The Weinstein brothers are infamous for heavily re-editing movies to the point that any film with the Dimension Films logo is guaranteed to deviate from the original filmmaker's vision. For example, the original filmed ending had "Deckard" saving Sarah from the fire and leaving Michael's fate ambiguous. And an original opening also had "home video" footage of the Myers family (including baby Laurie) having a cookout while young Michael watched in a menacing way. Do you think Halloween Resurrection is a worthy followup to H20's storyline despite the death of Laurie and that her son not been even mentioned in the final cut? Warning: y'all need to bucle up for Rob Zombie' s remake as there's some material that you both will not be too proud of. I hope yall can watch the Producer's Cut of Halloween 6 in a bonus video as I would love to see your thoughts on that infamous cut.

2025-09-08 19:00:37 +0000 UTCHALLOWEEN RESURRECTION (Tara and Roxy) In my question for your reaction to Halloween 4, I mentioned that the series itself is a “choose your own adventure” because of the various timelines. We have now reached that point, the first branch, if you will. H20 picks up after the very first TWO films, and ignores ALL of the other sequels. Halloween 1, Halloween 2, then Halloween H20, then Resurrection. Laurie carries trauma from that first Halloween night, has a son, fakes her own death, becomes a college teacher, etc. Now that you guys have experienced your first timeline branch, (I know it’ll be confusing on first watch since there are more branches, but it’s totally okay, studios back then were struggling to keep the series interesting, like a lot of slashers in the late 80s to early 90s, they became stale, and this sequel was conceived after the success of scream in 1996), what are your expectations for the series going forward, and are you still excited for the future installments, or are you worried about all the deviations?

The gimmick of reality tv was perfect for the time, what gimmick do you think they would have done if it was made today? I was thinking they may try screen life (like unfriendly, searching etc) which would have been awful.

I thought it would’ve been cool if she was in more of the difference perspectives just in the background. Either way, Gladys was such a fun character! I wouldn’t even mind a prequel with her being a bigger focus.

I feel like the movie would have been better served without it, as it would then just drop you in to this story/ended the story in the same state of confusion and intensity as the characters. If they had taken the narration out altogether, do you think it would have changed how you viewed the movie and the events that happen? For me, I feel like it gave some expectations and context that didn’t fully line up with what we see (although maybe on purpose bc it was from the perspective of a child?). Otherwise, it’s a really cool and unique movie 😊 Love you guys! 🫶

Hands down the boy that played Alex is a rising star, he was so believable. How did you feel at the end of the movie? Did it leave you wanting more? I’ve read people felt it left a lot unanswered but I felt I was able to infer most things. The questions I did still have only added to the mystery and I didn’t feel like I needed answers for the movie to still be great.

You can tell how inspired they were by previous films like Scream and Blair Witch Project. I think I really enjoyed the premise/plot of this movie but the execution was lacking. Was there anything in this film that you enjoyed more than the others? I found the kills to be more fun and Michael himself felt more ominous/scary.

She only agreed to come back in exchange for a lot of money & the condition that they permenantly kill Laurie off at the start of the movie so that she could finally move on from this franchise #trickortreatmuthafucka

I had up to season 6 on dvd, but for whatever reason I stopped watching after season 4 but when I got sick a few weeks back, I binged seasons 5 and 6 in two days. When I found out I had to pay prime to watch seasons 7 & 8, I ordered them on dvd and binged those in a weekend after they arrived. The first couple of seasons are tough to watch, you’ll know why I think so by the end of the first episode, but it gets so much better.
