Hot Fuzz is a blast!! I feel like Edgar Wright is riffing on his fave genres with love & glee via his Cornetto Trilogy - and while the GORE in Hot Fuzz was pretty hardcore even for it's release time, Edgar nails riffing on: Guy Ritchie, Bay, Tony Scott, John Woo with perfection!! On to the "The World's End" which I just adore! It's Edgar's love of John Carpenter and all the many "Invasion Of ____" movies from the past 60 plus years!

2025-06-06 23:25:35 +0000 UTCAbsolutely love the Cornetto Trilogy. Whilst I'm more likely to watch Shaun of the Dead or Hot Fuzz, my favourite performance of Simon Pegg's is in The World's End. It's fantastic. Also, I haven't seen anyone else mention this, the Santa at the beginnning of the movie is played by Peter Jackson, and Nick's ex girlfriend is played by Cate Blanchett. That's just the actors whose faces were hidden. The entire cast of this is basically acting royalty.
