Thinking back to the time when someone screamed "Dumbledore died!" when people were in line buying the book and filmed peoples disappointment to have that spoiled before reading it.

I agree. Depp was railroaded based on totally untrue allegations, and the studio just dumped him rather than support him. Mads is great, though, so I can't be mad about his casting.
I think the first Fantastic Beasts movie is super cool, though. Very well done, though a bit flawed. Yet, honestly an awesome introduction to a totally different part of the HP universe.
The next two movies struggle to connect "fantastic beasts" element to the Dumbledore origin story the series kinda turns into. But they're still a cool ride (basically a ride, like a theme part ride), through more fun wizard stuff. So while I'm disappointed in Beasts 2+3, I'm still happy we got more time in this world.

That's the thing I always feels so bad about because Jude was amazing in the second movie so I hate that I haven't given him a chance in the third due to Grindelwald recasting because I know he deserves the chance so with a push from the ReelRejects I feel I can finally give him that chance he deserves because I'm lazy on my own with no motives to watch it by myself 😓

I understand. I think Johnny Depp was better in the role. However, Jude Law really shines in the third film. It's definitely a Dumbledore focused film

In all honesty I've boycotted that franchise ( the absolute offense I feel on Johnny's behalf for firing him due to untrue allegations) so I stopped after the second movie and I've still to this day never seen Mads Mikkelsen even though I love that man so I might FINALLY give it a watch if the ReelRejects watch it they're a very acceptable reason to watch ❤️

"Horns" was also surprisingly amazing it was the first movie I saw outside of his Harry Potter role and it took my SIL quite a lot of convincing to get me to watch it because unfortunately I typecasted Daniel so I could only see him as Harry (at the time) but in the end I'm so glad I gave it a shot it was actually pretty great lol

The book has like 5 more Tom riddle flashback memory scenes. Also the books have a number of quidditch matches in them that have pay offs in terms of house championships. But its kinda hard to have more than 1 game in a movie for time purposes

Tara, if you ever get a chance, check out Universal in Florida! They got 2 different Harry Potter lands (with a 3rd opening up as they're opening their 3rd park), and YES they DO have the Weasley joke shop! You'd love it!
This movie is the worst "adaptation" because it misses sooo much of the book, but I actually enjoy it as a movie more than several others in the series. I'm probably one of the few that enjoyed the funny rom-com moments they added, but I think it works because the films get so dark and depressing as time goes on, the levity is actually appreciated. And we miss so much of "sassy Harry" from the books in the other movies, so it makes up for it a bit :) The Burrow attack scene was just wasted screen time, however.
Also, 100% agree about the desaturation, green filter, darkness, etc. Unfortunately, I think this film came out during the peak of that very strange time during the late 2000's when films all wanted to do weird filters and desaturation (also see Twilight, especially the first one with the blue filter, and many others). I know some of it was purposely not having sunlight because of the growing "darkness" of Voldie's threat, but it's definitely too much hah."
My last thought is regarding Draco. I mean, yes, he has been a jerk for 5 movies/books. Does his internal conflict really absolve him of how horrible he's been up til this point? He's crying and upset now because he's a scared kid. He's not an adult, but he's not just an 11 year old kid any more either. Yet... he's exactly what you'd expect a kid to be if the kid was raised by magical racist Darth Vader, second in command to an even worse power. Is that the kid's fault?

(I'm going to watch this later and then Eurotrip afterwards as my humour bandaid lol)
I have to comment before I watch that this movie right here was the most intense acting I had seen from Daniel and Michael when they're in the cave trying to get the locket that was INSANELY stressful and absolutely heartbreaking just phenomenal acting for both of them (not that they weren't always phenomenal lol)

The last 3 films really highlight how Ron was shortchanged in favor of Hermione in the movies. Because, as far as the movies are concerned, by this point he really is only useful for comedic relief. He's supposed to be more reliable and clear-headed in a crisis, as well as provide the physical muscle for the group. Hermione is supposed to panic more easily, is not very physical, and is prone to tunnel vision and Ron was supposed to balance her out.

I loved this reaction. Usually you both miss stuff because your joking with the accents or talking only to ask why did...? about 2 minutes later and I find myself yelling at the screen that 'if you weren't just talking, you'd know!!' Can you tell that's a little pet peeve...lol. I really appreciate that the last hour or so of the movie, you both were just immersed into what was happening and whataya know... you didn't have to constantly ask about something that you missed. I love it when a reactor just completely immerses themself in a movie. Than you for doing that and look forward to the the next.

Loved the reaction! Can't wait for the next ones.
This one and the next book are my favourites, can't really decide between the two.
This movie is good if you haven't read the books, but knowing what the movie left out, is kinda frustrating…
They added unnecessary and sometimes cringy stuff, that weren't in the books but left out some really important character or plot points.
-Like Ginny and Harrys relationship was very different in the books. They actually got together after a Quidditch match and dated for a short while. Ginny is such a great character in the books.
-Harry being really attached to the Half-blood prince book, while simultaneously despising Snape more than he ever did before.
-The reveal that 15 years ago Snape was the one, that overheard part of the prophecy and told Voldemort about it, leading to the Potters death.
-There were more memories about Voldemort, and yes is was much more layered.
And alot more unfortunately.
But the one scene that I really loved in the movie, even though it was different, was how Harry got Slughorns memory. It was such a beautiful scene in both the movie and the book.

I will say this is always a polarizing topic for creators and your miles may vary. However, given the amount of time they've been reacting, they probably aren't going to change anytime soon! Presonally I prefer it this way. Sure some things get missed, but it's an honest and true one! - PLD

@Divinerights It's not about being quiet, it's about paying attention. It's a reaction, not a commentary. If you don't pay attention then you have nothing to react to. Reacting is not commenting on every little thing and theorizing/analyzing the whole time. And there are reactors that are talking less and it's still a great reaction. I mean, look at Greg. He is talking way less but still has great reactions to what's on screen and more importantly, he can follow the plot and knows what's going on.

Like seriously. The senctum sempra, the black bird...and those are just two examples. Tara just can't be quiet for a minute and she's asking questions about things that were shown a minute before. Besides that her assumptions are always so far off. I'm trying to be respectful and nice but it's so annoying.

The biggest disappointment with this movie is not seeing Snape teach Defense Against the Dark Arts. Yes, it is in the book and I think it's really important. He teaches them non-verbal spells, so if your in a duel you aren't announcing what spell you're about to attack with.

Let's ease up on Ron a little, he is just a dumb teenage boy, he honestly has no idea Hermione likes him, and doesn't even really understand his own feelings about her at the moment. Also he didn't initiate anything with Lavender, he just kinda went along with it.
