Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (2007) - Movie WATCH ALONG!!

Comments

Hello I’m just curious why the movie is censored and the audio is muted😢 i subscribed to your patreon cause i wanted to watch the whole thing with you guys 😞 Great videos tho!

Rahaf

We need number 6 ASAP this is my favorite series!! I’m riding with yall!!

Jacob Fanene

Haha right? Oh yeah she’s hated more than Voldemort, and honestly understandable.

Michelle MacNeily

omg thats so hilarious and real of them fr, i hate umbridge 😭

Mickey Ross

I always look foward to your reactions especially the Harry Potter journey. I see a notification at work and I'm like; sweeet! I can't wait to get home and relax and watch with you guys! You two together are the best!

A-Team

Didn't they have to mute Daniel Radcliff when Sirius died because it would make the rating of the movie go up?

Kelsey

My friends and I back in the day went as evil peeps for the 6th book release. I was Umbridge, and the amount of kids that tried to avada kedavra me. Which fair really. Hahaha

Michelle MacNeily

I actually agree with a lot of what you said. This is one of my least favorite movies because it is just so disheartening for like 90% of the film. Like everyone did great, and it is super important, but it just makes me mad so I don’t love rewatching this one as much. Still absolutely love it because it’s Harry Potter, but it’s at the bottom of all of them

Kasey Armendariz

I love Luna. One of my fave characters!

Stardust_and_Madness

Yeah but having a reason for being evil doesn't automatically mean the evil is lesser. Voldemort and Death Eaters have a reason – they're pure-blood fanatics who want to clense the wizarding world and enslave the Muggles. Does that mean a person who does evil stuff without an apparent reason is worse than them? I don't think so. Sirius has a great line in this movie (in the books the context was different, he was directly talking about Umbridge): "The world isn't split into good people and Death Eaters" It means there are levels to good and evil, but also that not every person doing wrong things is a Voldemort sympathizer.

Jan Popieluch

I just love this one because Luna finally shows up 🥰

JC

I think people need to remember that this is a two person reaction, we're watching to hear them talk about what they're seeing and for added commentary. They're inevitability going to talk over a few things in a series as exposition dense as HP. Stick to solo reactors if you're expecting someone to pay close attention

JC

I start bawling the minute I hear Sirius talk about becoming a real family with Harry when all this is over 😭 my heart just absolutely shatters because that's all anyone wanted for Harry was to have a family that lifts him up instead of tearing him down so having not read the books (because I wanted to wait until I finished the movies so as to not sway my opinions at the time... I've since read them lol) that was so shocking and it took me a while to recover from that especially when before his death it was such a sweet moment between them because Harry reminds Sirius so much of James so it always destroys me no matter how many times I see this movie I always resort back to that 18yr old with a broken heart coming out of the theaters with red puffy eyes and a heavy heart 😭😭😭💔

KaylaTheKing

i want more yapping. never stop yapping. not even to breathe. <3 the weasleys were always my favorite part of reading, maybe one of my favorite fictional families i’ve ever read, and molly weasley is the heart of it. in the books, there’s this bit about what she’s most afraid of that always breaks my heart (what she sees when she sees a boggart is each of her children, dead)

sanrac

What? No way. The book is a million times better. I would say this movie is in my bottom two.

LullaBelle

When Tara said she likes Mrs. Figg, I think it was an instant cat lady connection lol. In the first book (I think), it's mentioned how she would babysit Harry while the Dursleys were on vacation or out doing fun things. She had lots of cats and bored Harry with pictures of them. She knew that if Harry enjoyed himself when she babysat him, the Dursleys would pick up on it, and not let him over any more. She's been watching over him since he was a much younger child, by order of Dumbledore.

Flypanam

Just the quick note about the "Dark Lord" title. Snape isn't the only one using it, Dumbledore does it as well, during the hearing at the Ministry. So do others. "Dark Lord" is a somewhat official government moniker for Voldemort. It's used in serious contexts, to simultaneously not hide behind the no-naming stuff and not break social norms by actually saying "Voldemort". Then there's "One Who Must Not Be Named". That's a formal way of describing Voldemort, for example in press. And finally, "You-Know-Who", informal, used as a short replacement in everyday speech.

Jan Popieluch

My issue with this one is the same as the last one. They tried to condense too much into a film and ended up giving a bare-bones plot and leaving out A LOT of critical character stuff. Goblet of Fire was supposed to be a huge threshold for the kids, with much of Order of the Phoenix having them deal with more complicated ethical and emotional concepts, particularly death. But I don't feel that the films really capture that.

Argo2Unitard

did u just growl into the mic?......yeahgrrrr

Michael Ramirez

This is one of my least fav but I think the third act makes up for the whole movie. I do love that its the slowly start of unfolding everything

Ana Karen

I don't believe they have the exact time yet! As soon as they know you will know! - PLD

The Reel Rejects

I wish the yapping wasnt so constant 😭 Everytime you dont understand something, usually is talking over it..

Alissonbecker94

sirius and bellatrix are cousins thats what he showed us on that wall with the family tree. The wizarding world is actually very intermarried due to the whole pure blood ideology. This makes it so that most of the characters are related in some way.

DABSLABOG

It's interesting that you picked up on/thought this was a really dark movie, cause of all the books this story was always the darkest most difficult to read for me, and makes me so emotional. So love that they were able to portray that through this movie.

Jules R

Can someone please tell Tara that Dame Maggie Smith's name is NOT Maggie Rose??

Rie

Such a cool ending, the two most powerful wizards going head to head. I remember watching for the first time (not being a book reader) just hoping this battle would happen. Boy was high school me pumped to see it on screen.

Sir-Trix-Alot

2:13:15 I think they demonstrated how death happens in combat perfectly one second you are side by side with your battle buddy and the next second he is gone there is no time to grieve.

Mack

Just so you know, you guys were in fact talking over the scene where they explained the patronus charm lmao Harry said “the shield form is weaker but still works but the animal form is more powerful” Also Neville’s parents aren’t dead. They were just tortured into insanity so they couldn’t raise Neville. And his grandmother had it One other thing about Harry’s Father is that the movie kinda glosses over the important part of the bullying James bullied Snape. So did Sirius and Lupin. But the thing is, they were immature teens who bullied someone and they grew up, matured, and joined the army to fight Voldemort (wizard equivalent of Nazis). There was in fact a war before. You seemed to Think there wasn’t. There was. That’s why the order of the Phoenix originally formed So James was never a bigot. Just a jerk who grew up to become a great man. And a war hero Snape became a death eater. And never grew past his teenage self. I don’t consider this a spoiler because goblet of fire confirms that he was a death eater who eventually joined the order as a spy. But he did join initially because he agreed with their beliefs. Meaning Snape was a bigot. A wizard racist so to speak. And joined the Nazis of the wizarding world I won’t say mroe. This is just info from the 4th and 5th movies and books But in my opinion, most sane normal people wouldn’t just become a Nazi because they were bullied lol. You could argue he was preyed on and targeted because he was lonely. due to the bullying. That part is true. But he genuinely had super hateful beliefs. Like the equivalent of a non bigoted person who’s just an asshole who grows ans matures (James), and a genuine racist who was bullied and into his 40s still holds a grudge. The movies never really explain this. It’s all in the 5th book. It’s not to absolve James of any wrong doing but more perspective

Connor Vide

This is near the bottom of my list out of all 8 movies mostly because of Umbridge. She just makes me too anger, I hate her more than Voldemort. The fight between Dumbledore and Voldemort was amazing.

zenscience

I strongly disagree that the movie is better than the book. Yeah the book is very long and has stuff in it that wasn't necessarily important and is "just" worldbuilding and a little more of Harrys day to day life, but there are alot of things that I wanted to see that were left out or just touched upon a little. -Like the James bullying Snape scene, there was more to it. And Harry was very freaking troubled seeing his Dad do that. He even talked to Lupin And Sirius about it. -Sirius' treatment of Kreacher, leading to Kreachers betrayal. -They didn't even say the full prophecy. -The fact that Umbridge was the one that sent the dementors at the beginning. -Nevilles story -McGonagalls badass moment standing up for Harry against Umbridge. And later on her getting attacked by the Ministry, defending Hagrid. -But the thing I hated the most that they left out was Harrys absolute grief following Sirius' death (once they're back in Hogwarts). The denial at first and then the anger and him just trashing Dumbledores office and Dumbledore letting him. And then their talk…we literally only got the bare minimun of that. Those just came to mind right now but I'm sure there are more. The only thing I liked better in the movie was when Harry fought Voldemort in his mind at the end. That was amazing. I just hope they will do better in the series…

Momo

Neville’s parents aren’t dead. Bellatrix used the Cruciatus Curse (Crucio) which is the torture curse; the movies don’t explain that it broke them mentally and they now live at St. Mungo’s (insane asylum) which is why Neville lives with his grandmother. In the film, Sirius just says “they suffered a fate worse than death”. Harry in his greed and rage casts it on Bellatrix before Voldemort shows up trying to egg him on to cast another Unforgivable Curse: Avada Kedavra, which is the killing curse Bellatrix used that to kill Sirius. The last of the Unforgivable Curses (as explained by fake Prof. Moody in Goblet of Fire) is the Imperius curse (Imperio). That one allows the caster to control the actions of their victim.

When is your Wondercon panel? I've been looking through the schedule but haven't placed it yet

Anna

I know I already commented on YouTube but I’m saying it again here - Delores Umbridge is right up there with Percy from The Green Mile as the most evil villains ever in a book/movie for me. Most villains have a reason for the evil things they do, Umbridge and Percy just enjoy being evil.

Stardust_and_Madness

Omg, I’m so exited to watch this, but as its 7am and I still haven’t gone to sleep, I’ll have to watch it once I wake up 😭
