The Lord Of The Rings: The Return Of The King | Theatrical Cut - Movie WATCH ALONG!!!

Comments

What value was added by dropping a major spoiler for a new show? I haven't had a chance to watch it yet, just joined the Patreon like 5 hours ago, and have already had the show spoiled for me by a channel that should know better.

Will you guys be checking out the hobbit trilogy ? cause that would be awesome if you are doing that as well

Oh also, some people will probably be rude to me about this since they don't consider it canon or don't like the choices made, but if since you mentioned being curious about Galadriel, Rings of Power would give you some insight. Season 3 was just confirmed and even though season 1 had major issues, I really enjoyed season 2 and I think they keep learning and improving, so hoping for the best for season 3 and on.

Really loved the reactions you two and I desperately need you to check out the behind the scenes making videos of these films and the extended of course. It hadn't really gotten to me until this movie, where I found myself inadvertently yelling out twice "they cut such a good sceeene!" haha. It makes the ending so much more impactful. But Roxy, loved you loving on Aragorn and both you and your love for Sam and the understanding elements for Frodo (a lot of people don' like Frodo but don't understand him). He essentially is a solider coming back from war who's wounds and mental scars did not heal. He left with the elves to a kind of heaven like place I believe, where hopefully he won't feel the pain from his injury as much or at all. Some of my fav scenes are Gandalf describing death, and Sam saying "I can't carry it for you, but I can carry you!" Almost always makes me cry. The love between all the characters is so beautiful and we need more of that in the world today. Also yes, the Hobbit would be fun to see. Definitely not as impactful but still enjoyable.

Tara said to Faramir "Your father wasn't stoked about your brother dying, so I think he wants you alive" and I was like ooooh boy. The extended editions definitely give a ton more context for pretty much everything. There are some scenes that are just completely cut from the theatrical release, and other scenes that are in the theatrical release are way extended. For example, Saruman's death scene mentioned in the trivia. I'm definitely here for the Hobbit trilogy. And a lot of fans will call this blasphemy, but I think you'd enjoy the Rings of Power show on Amazon, which goes into a lot of the history of Galadriel, Elrond, Gandalf, Isildur, the dwarves, the hobbits, and mostly importantly, Sauron. It doesn't exactly follow canon closely (that would be impossible since the books span a timeline of thousands of years, but the TV show needs to be five seasons with the same actors playing the humans and dwarves). But since you've never read all the books and would be going in blind I really think you'd love it. And I would love to watch it with you.

Chapter Eight

Love it! Love it! Love it! I knew Roxy would be kicking herself for not recognizing Karl Urban. Hehehe. From day one, Sam is the greatest, and it's beautiful that he is able to find his footing back in Shire live (which was just not going to be possible for Frodo). Of course, "I can't carry it for you, but I can carry you" is up there with "You shall not pass" as one of the most memorable lines of the whole franchise. Once again, Andy Serkis is unforgettable... Aragorn is a true king of men (and Arwen the truest queen)... Gimli is an underrated hero... Gandalf is magical beast... Eowyn is a true warrior and badass... and EVERYONE (of this massive cast) killed it. The scene of Pippen singing while Faramir and his men charged to almost certain death and Denethor ate is haunting and so freakin' sad. So glad you enjoyed these, and thanks for the great reactions!

I hope you ladies do watch the extended versions. There are so many beautiful scenes between some of the characters that I really missed in these theatrical versions. One thing you missed was that Aeowyn ended up with Faramir bringing Gondor and Rohan together.

Tara

Hubs and I are reheating pizza and wings for breakfast and tossing on the watch along to ROTK w/ the amazing SHEJECTS!!! Perfect Sunday morning. 😁 We love y'all's reactions to these movies. Would love to see you do the Hobbit trilogy too!
