I really hope they do a reaction to it, I think they’d love it

Will you guys react to heartstopper it’s such beautiful show

She created the Witches road song with her son, that was the whole point.... It was a song about 2 people walking the road which they changed and went around singing to lure witches. It's why she knew so much about it. Alice's mom just understood the lyricsand made a modern version.

Agatha’s cutting a lemon to bite on was based on a real bit of 18th-century midwifery (a profession historically associated with witches): if a woman began labor alone, she was encouraged to do something to brace against the pain and to keep herself alert, as passing out mid-labor could mean death for both mother and child. Like many shocks (cold water immersion, sharp physical sensations) the sour taste might also push a labor along. New England in 1750 definitely didn’t have our big, smooth, juicy, yellow-skinned grocery-store lemons, though!

By the way, not sure if someone already pointed this out and I missed it, but in Episode 1, the library book with the title initials spelling “DARKHOLD” also has an interesting detail: the author is listed as “Andrew Ugo” — which, if you rearrange the letters, spells “Wundagore.” Mount Wundagore is, of course, the mountain where Chthon’s temple to the Scarlet Witch is located in _Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness_. In the comics, it’s where the original Darkhold is kept (in the movie, the original is inscribed on the walls). Now, this isn’t directly confirmed in onscreen canon — so like the _WandaVision_ creators later explaining Randall Bohner as the “missing Witness Protection protectee,” it could be revised later — but the final _WandaVision_ post-credits scene, where Wanda is sipping tea on the porch of her cottage in that European mountain valley (while, simultaneously, astrally perusing the Darkhold in the bedroom), was reportedly meant to place her at the foot of Mount Wundagore.

I absolutely adored these last two episodes! I do think they should've split them, because episode 8 would've gotten so much talk and love over the week. I still feel the start of the show was a little rocky, not a lot to be super invested in, but they had a great story to tell and I'm so pleasantly surprised that it came together. Landing a shows ending feels far more satisfying than landing an opening (Or maybe I'm just used to MCU shows not landing the finale, so this was a delightful change of pace 😅) Aubrey Plaza as Death works so damn well for me, especially when she really gets in touch with Death talk, about taking people, I think she's amazing. I'm now very excited for the eventual journey of Wiccan and finding Speed, the supernatural section of Marvel has a lot of juice in it, and I am definitely hungry for more!

First, I should thank y’all for a great watchalong for this. Loved the road we walked together over these few weeks. Second, I am soooooo happy they stuck the landing. Both episodes were just brilliantly done. Finally, as a black woman - yes absolutely there was subtext! And I cried with deep emotions. Thank you Greg for bringing that up.

I love Heartstopper. Kit and Joe and the rest of the cast are so good.

Joe Locke’s short career is _bonkers._ His Heartstopper casting via a cold video audition during lockdown, Agatha as only his second on-screen role after that, and then to Broadway in Sweeney Todd. I desperately hope he’s part of the still-untitled Vision show, which supposedly begins filming soon-ish!

Great reaction guys! I definitely cried a few times 😭. Was it implied that Agatha created Nicholas with magic?

Hades

The same for Debra Jo Rupp — except she only sang during the chorus round. (That’s consistent with the show, since she said she didn’t know the song.)

So, what was “the tell” Agatha said Billy and Wanda shared? From the end of episode 6, after Agatha crawls out of the bog: — BILLY When did you figure it out? AGATHA I had a feeling when we first met… Even with the sigil in the way, you and your mother have the same tell. BILLY Which is? AGATHA Very inconvenient for you. — It’s possible I missed another answer, but I think the tell was that Billy, like Wanda, could wield real magick without knowing that’s what they were doing. If “when we first met” meant even before the Road, it could be his breaking Wanda’s ‘Agnes’ spell. But more likely, I think, is when the doors to the Road (which, remember, Agatha alone knew wasn’t real) appeared—and they were surrounded by the blue aura of Billy’s magick (which Agatha had briefly seen in the finale of WandaVision), immediately followed by Billy running down the basement steps and through the doors—because it was what Billy needed at that instant, to flee from the Salem Seven. In episode 4, noting Sharon Davis/Mrs. Hart’s demise, Agatha remarks to Billy, “I didn’t know you had it in you” — which seemed like a totally random and weird remark, one Billy is confused by. But in retrospect, she was expressing her surprise that Billy was so committed to “the bit” (which is what at this point in the story she thought Billy’s ‘Road’ was) that he’d let an innocent bystander die rather than banish the spell. In episode 7, Billy says, “I wish Lilia was here” — just in time for Lilia to break through the shelving. In the comics, Billy Kaplan exhibited powers long before he knew he was Billy Maximoff, and — calling himself “Asgardian” because his blue magick looked like Thor’s lightning — his other power was manifesting: if he spoke a desire with conviction, it could come to be. I’m pretty sure there are other instances of Billy manifesting, but I haven’t found them yet. And Agatha not only knew the Road wasn’t real (since she and Nicky had invented it), but she and Rio both also knew it was Billy’s creation. In episode 8: — RIO And I know how you feel about him. AGATHA Oh, please— I’ve known that kid for two minutes. RIO I watch you, Agatha. Just as closely as you watch everyone else. This walk — with *another woman’s* son? On a Road that doesn’t even— AGATHA —Stop! — Rio pretty obviously was going to finish her sentence, “a Road that doesn’t even exist.” Both of them know this is a construct of Billy’s reality-warping—and Rio exits by slitting the backdrop with her athame, just to underscore the point.

Id love that! it’s one of my favourite shows and Joe Locke’s acting debut!

Loved the episodes and your reaction One minor thing. You said “so he drove there and then flew into battle?” Billy drove there in episode 1. His car was just there the entire time. His parents say he was gone for 24 hours so the entire road took place in one day. So when he left the road he was shot out somewhere and flew to Agatha. But when he was leaving he got back into his car I loved all your take’s in the review section. The Agatha all along title was so clever and not just a gimmick/funny callback And I definitely agree with the loki thing too. I was pleasently surprised that while they humanize her, she stayed a villain pretty much to the end. You could never trust her It’s hard to do villain spin-offs in a satisfying way. Loki worked because despite him being the 2012 version of the character, us as an audience saw him redeem himself from Thor 2011 until Infinity War. So when he became good relatively quickly we as an audience were kinda used to it. But this show didn’t do that. and I really appreciate it And I loved Billy’s parallels with Wanda. Him creating the road legit was never once on my mind. But the clues were there. The door to the road was blue, his colour magic. Agatha’s look of surprise at the door was there from the beginning, we just didn’t think anything of it. With the writers and strike leading to streaming shows requiring show runners now, I think the future of marvel tv will be greatly improved. Loki season 2 started it. And this continued it. They’re actually making tv. And not 6 hour movies split into episodes. Since iron heart was filmed so long ago it’ll probably have a similar structure to 2021 marvel tv (doesn’t mean it’ll be bad though. I’m really excited). But with wonder man and the vision show I think we’re gonna gonna see a lot of great and more well planned out shows going forward Sometimes studios listen to fans too much and “course correct” in such a drastic way that it ends up harming the project. But I think they’re taking a more subtle approach to listen to fans genuine critiques of all their shows from 2021 onward, while also trusting their writers to deliver a good show. Rather than listening to those grifters who photoshop every woman to be super ugly in their thumbnails and complain for 40 minutes about wokeness lol. This show was allowed to be super queer. Not just in the way that he has queer characters. But just culturally, historically, in ways other than the textbook definition of “man loves man. Woman loves woman”. But actually incorporating queer icons as the cast of the show, honing into to the marginalization of real witches (I don’t believe in magic or “real” witches in terms of pop culture. But witchcraft is a real pagan practice. Witch trials were real. And it’s still practiced today by many queer and marginalized people. And the concept of things are real because we believe them is so great. Myself I’m not very spiritual, but I also understand a lot of spirituality is just our way to explain the unexplained. To find community. And I think it’s quite beautiful) Overall, amazing show
