It’s strange to me that everyone these days thinks fire is a witch’s worst enemy, but did you know, there were no witches actually burned at the stake in the USA. I thought it was fun that Coy knew about the one man who was accused in Salem who was pressed to death by stones - I guess because he’s from Massachusetts and he was taught the local history? The accused (mostly women) were only burned in Europe, and even then mostly only in the Middle Ages, in non-English speaking countries. Accused witches’ bodies were burned in Scotland but they were usually killed first and then burned. (I’ve been doing a ton of (sporadic) research the past few years for one of my books.
