I get why Ridley Scott and the screenwriters chose to show the crew 'poking the hornet's nest' when it came to those spore-bearing pods. If they were decked out in full hazmat suits and sterile containment like "The Andromeda Strain" we wouldn't see the initial airborne infections of the two crewmates. We needed to see the hidden dangers in this new paradise of a planet. I think also that audiences are a little more aware of things we cannot see in the post-pandemic era. I like "Alien Covenant" more now than when I first saw it in the theater. I, too, wondered where Ridley Scott would have taken the franchise if he had completed this trilogy.

2024-09-02 11:42:03 +0000 UTCIt was obvious that it was David at the end because Walter was earlier established as an advance who can heal themselves. Then we the "surviving" one stitching themselves. That was a dead giveaway that it was David and not Walter cuz Walter don't need no stitching.
