9?! Damn! I saw “Se7en” at age 7, but this is on a personal level of darkness for all women, I just can’t at any age lol.

This is one of the few movies I can’t even watch alongside Reel Rejects 😫

I think I halfway made it thru the book for school before it got too dark for me to continue

So I started about 20 minutes ago and enjoy myself but I’m trying to figure out what the noise is… your computer maybe? The notification sound, pop. I have like pulled up every app and closed it and I’ve done everything I can. Ha. It’s Gotta be you guys lol I’m the fly episode from breaking bad moments!

Ashley

This was emo, I’ll torture myself at watch it with u 😭😭😭

I think the pacing issues is just a natural byproduct of the book and the story that is being adapted. It's a very internal story where the main focus is on Susie coming to terms with what has happened and finding peace for herself (for context, the book's author drew heavily from her own thoughts and mental state after being sexually assaulted and her journey of healing). Obviously, that doesn't work super well in a visual medium. I think they were trying to balance the emotional plot and the action plot but missed the mark. The movie also leaves out a lot of the effect that Susie's murder has on her family.

"What my mother told me would happen to me if I talked to strangers" the movie. Based on the book of the same name... This absolutely horrified me, but, that revenge/rescue though... Happy to watch with you! It's such a beautiful yet disturbing story.
