Well... that escalated quickly. If you're all tired of build-up, fear no more, because shit is hitting the fan!

You can read the previous chapters in the collection!

P.S. Feedback sustains me (and it helps me get better). Tell me what you liked, what you didn't (or thought was boring or meaningless, etc).

Wow, Harry jumping timelines really saved the hell out of this one, it looks like. Given how utterly terrified the Dursleys are, as well as him having Parseltongue without the horcrux scar (indicating it was there previously, long enough to leave an imprint), it seems the previous Harry was a revived Voldemort unto himself—perhaps one far less controlled or forgiving than the main piece(???) which became Quirrel. We know, from Harry having his glasses next to him but them suddenly not being needed, that something about his older soul's presence drastically changed his body's condition. Given the fanon idea that Harry's bad eyesight is due to the Horcrux (even though his Dad had glasses), it seems like said Horcrux was active until the moment he was shoved into the body and . . . displaced it? Destroyed it? Subsumed it? In any case, given the Dursleys' much more reasonable treatment of Harry, their flat out ignoring his existence after the wakeup call until he directly addresses them, and them looking younger and STIFFER than he remembered, it seems pretty clear that Harrymort mind whammied them (as young Tom Riddle did to his bullies); which would be what made them so utterly, understandably terrified of magic by the time Dumbledore showed up, since it had worn off. In fact, given the surprising sanity of Quirrelmort, as well as the prophecy becoming fulfilled when Harry awoke in his younger body, I'd posit that in this universe, the main Voldemort consciousness inhabited and took over infant Harry's body while the intended Horcrux piece flew away. In that case, older Harry's entry into his body killed/subsumed/displaced the main Voldemort piece in a way that it couldn't come back from and completed the prophecy. To be fair, however, it could always just be that older Harry accidentally offing younger Harry via takeover killed the Harry who was involved with this timeline's prophecy, which would probably do it as well. I do think that the Voldemort piece was a huge influence on pre-takeover Harry either way, in any case. And I think it would be incredibly funny if Harry, just by being shunted into his younger body postmortem, managed to eliminate both targets of the prophecy simultaneously. Without his presence, the timeline would have at least two Voldemorts running around (three, if the diary managed to incorporate itself), one with access to his very talented, highly malleable daughter. In conclusion, MC Harry's mere existence really saved everyone's asses. In any case, I can't wait for next chapter (especially since I found this story right after such a huge cliffhanger), and I'm really enjoying the story overall. It has a ton of reread value compared to most novels I've found via QQ, due to all of the intricate foreshadowing.

I hadn't really considered it, but now that you've mentioned it, I really like the idea. Getting a basilisk form (or any sort of snake form) would feel really redundant, and the Phoenix form would fit extremely well with his wish for freedom (flight, phoenix apparition) while soothing some of his worries about having changed so much his former wand (in this timeline) didn't accept him.

OriksGaming

Why would it be a mistake? Harry connect most of the dots a few chapters prior when he realised she can hear the Basilisk.

Gladiusx

you said juno was bellatrix and voldemorts daughter. i assume this is a mistake?

Lmao bro fucked up bad, rookie shit. But I'm gonna guess this will go back to when I said rituals were cheatcode shit and you said Harry will get "something else", this will be it? Something to do with the scar horcrux..? Good for the basilisk though honestly, didn't die like a pussy like in canon. Always thought Harry should've never beaten that thing without ever even using a spell. Great chapter big dog

gigamans

I think a basilisk form makes more sense, he and his pet can then both fight together as giant snakes, while also gaining phoenix traits as rapid healing because of the tears, maybe because of all the fuck ups during the fight he becomes the first in history to get 2 forms, or a hybrid of the two

Whoa, great chapter. The wait for the next one will be a long one.

Perraup

he consumed Phoenix tears as this was happening so I would guess he gets a Phoenix form

Those charms don't stick endlessly, casting one before the fight might see it run out mid-fight which would suck. And Harry did expect to get in with the rooster, made it crow and go back to sleep.

How do you go into an encounter with a giant fuck-off dangerous snake that you’ve fought before and forget to mask your scent and silence yourself. Don’t get me wrong I loved the fight it’s just…how? It’s a snake. Get a biology book Harry for fucks sake.

Based_Bass

I predict this fuckery causing his animagus form to be a basilisk
