Epilogue Part 5 aka chapter 53 of 'The Dragonwolf' is out!

Comments

About two-three weeks.

Gladiusx

When is your next update coming out?

TyrantGod

Would be cool to see an epilogue post of one of Jon’s dragonless children going to Harrenhall and claiming Rhaegal

vb

The currency of the Targs was never going to last anyway, but the Citadel simply pushed Jon's hand in the matter of scholars/academy.

Gladiusx

Not yet. Jon's not exactly an ambitious and bloodthirsty warlord. For the North to expand, it needs to be on stable footing first.

Gladiusx

Awesome idea with mint change and building their own university

Garri Sarkisov

Yes, he was, but he was contemplating on the idea, but he's still a newbie in rituals. There will be some sort of solution, but probably not what people are happy with. Not that everyone will be happy no matter what happens, heh.

Gladiusx

Has the lands beyond the Wall been integrated in to the Stark Kingdom?

TyrantGod

One of the earlier chapters, he was contemplating on binding his dragon rider magic to his male bloodline so that other houses don’t get dragons like how leana and leanor velayron had?

TyrantGod

Nope, he doesn't even know where to begin.

Gladiusx

Glad you like it!

Gladiusx

The Wall still exists, and so does the Night's Watch, but they will be addressed sooner or later in some form. So will the freefolk.

Gladiusx

Capitalism is not only possible for the richest countries, but requires a stable rulership/leadership at the top and a smooth transition of power, something that only Western Europe and USA had at the time. Climate is important, but not deciding factor. Exploitation is ugly(and a misnomer really), but it works both ways, and it's not explicitly needed in Capitalism. Sufficient to say, modern economics simply do not apply. But the thing with exploitation in some form is that it happens in every corner of the planet, and not only capitalism or whatever.

Gladiusx

A few giants in the Gift, COTF are extinct.

Gladiusx

Why would he forge anything for Edric? Just sending some gifts and letting him recruit men is far more generous. Edric is only human and is not worth thousands of sets of armour and men to use them. As for the Citadel, Jon can probably take everything, but those books require being rewritten by hand every half a hundred years or so, basically making it meaningless. The amount of manpower needed to keep the books in order is enormous and not something Jon has on hand right now. That's not to say he won't loot some.

Gladiusx

Did Jon bind his magic to his primary bloodline to avoid multiple dragon rider clans?

TyrantGod

These epilogues are brilliant!

Malin Jayakody

What happened to the Wall and Night Watch? Are they not defunct with NK being defeated and what is the status of the Free Folk?

TyrantGod

Will Jon forge the weapon & armor for Edric? And does he still have a wand ? Can’t Jon just ransack the Citadel & steal all the books?

TyrantGod

Are there any giants or children of the forest left or are they all extinct?

Omar Alshaikh

Because it doesn't work this way. Trying to apply institution and logic of another economic structure (capitalism) to feodal state (especially with such hardcore climate) is as effective as Daenerys reforms in Slaver Bay. Furthermore from history we can see that way from feudalism to capitalism was only possible for richest countries that exploited others + had best climate in world (West Europe).

Nikita Shtobert

The ones he has are already putting some strains on Winterfell's food flow. He has no connection to Rhaegal at all and cannot form any. His connections to Bloodfyre and Stormstrider were purely a creation of the hatching ritual, and the fact that he was there from the very start. To Jon, Rhaegal is one giant, growing treasure trove of ingredients that grows in value as time passes.

Gladiusx

Harry has 5-6 years of beginning-level knowledge at most from muggle school. He can't exactly copy the Hogwarts school system that he's familiar with, can he? Harry had no need to turn towards the muggle education/devices etc., as his magic/the magic would pretty much provide him with what he wanted. It's one thing to know about concrete, and completely different how it's made etc. An uplift does nothing for House Stark, the cost of Research and Development would pretty much be beggaring, and without industrialisation, a good chunk of the things Harry does know, would be simply a proof of concept and a loss of money. Also, Harry, and his children have magic. Does he want to push for muggle advancement? He already saw how a war between high-tech muggles and magic goes, and it was ugly. The post-apocalyptic world in the start wasn't solely done by the muggles or the wizards. I will probably repeat myself again, but Jon would only do anything if it's explicitly in House Stark's direct interest. He doesn't have previous experience of administration, ruling, etc.

Gladiusx

Won’t Jon taking care of Rhaegal help House Stark obtain an additional dragon?

TyrantGod

Why doesn’t Jon use previous world knowledge to establish schools, concrete, blast furnace, printing press etc?

TyrantGod

another good one, thanks!

Corlys
