This is the redesign of Kai, the Turkish Kangal dog, one of the main characters in the comic I’m working on. This is my biggest project, and it requires many changes and corrections, but once it’s ready, the chapters will be published here on Patreon ;)
Kai is the largest member of his group, which consists of 6 characters in total. He is very protective, loyal, and kind-hearted, though he will not hesitate to fight for those he cares about, making use of his formidable strength and intimidating appearance. His primary role within the group is that of a bodyguard and protector.
He wears a spiked collar to prevent fatal bites to the neck, just like real Kangal dogs. His ears are cropped by his own choice, as he previously lost one ear in a fight and decided to crop both to reduce vulnerability in future battles.
Kai’s past isn’t tragic; he comes from a good family but disliked the overly proper and regimented lifestyle his family attempted to impose on him. He completely separated from them after nearly being forced into an arranged marriage.
Eventually, he found the group “Feral Bloom,” where he met Selene, its unofficial leader, who accepted and welcomed him into the group. The other members include Howl (Selene’s brother), Nick, Shayla, and Juno. All of them are canines except for Juno, who is feline.
Currently, Kai is deeply in love with Selene and has quite a rivalry with Howl.
