Sorry guys! No April tonight
Added 2016-04-12 19:06:32 +0000 UTCI opened up the file ready to upload and stopped. I know can do a little better. There are two quick fixes I want to make, but rendering will take all night. It's such a simple shot that it would be remiss of me to not get the two most important details right. Tomorrow should yield results.

2016-04-12 20:41:22 +0000 UTCWith most of my images, it takes forever even with a nuclear computer, but that's partly due to my tendency to render to the max. The Iray engine shares a lot of similarities to actual film (I used to develop my own film and prints but no longer have the space), so exposure/render time can influence graininess and brightness. A blank background with a few bright spotlights for example will render much quicker than a darkened room with a window. The "light" is then bounced off every surface again and again until the room slowly fills with a soft ambience. There's quite a bit of trail and error, but I kinda find it therapeutic, much like refining a photographic print. Only with slightly less fumes.
