Hey I wanna know what you all would prefer!
Added 2020-04-26 18:11:36 +0000 UTCOKAY SO you've probably noticed that lately, posting has been a bit sparse until the last couple of weeks in a month. This new production method has been letting me get more done; but it also means that if I don't have a comic or two to use as a buffer, then when there's a weird month where unexpected stuff comes up (like the last two), it's led to me posting the month's work in a hurry in the last week so I can pay the bills.
However! I've been living sparsely and can afford to post one less page this month in order to build up a buffer for next month, and restore the usual posting schedule.
I'm having a bit of trouble deciding which option to take though, so I want to know the thoughts of you wonderful people who are allowing me to do this in the first place!
I've got three pages almost ready for posting, two of which will definitely be posted this coming week. And with the remaining time, I'll get most of a fourth page done before the beginning of May. So either way, I'll have a buffer that'll allow for more regular throughout-the-month posting... but if posting 3 comics in a week is annoying to you, the readers and generous funders of these stories, then I could post just two this month instead, and add that 3rd comic to the buffer as well.
Either way, I'll have a buffer and posting will return to normal next month- but I've seen a couple complaints about posting 3 pages in a week, so I want to know if that's just a minor opinion, or what most people are thinking.

Noses, not noises! But yeah, no. :) It's a Pinkie Pie quote from my fanfic novel.

2020-04-27 20:06:14 +0000 UTCYeah, the way the poll's looking (and the further thought I've given the subject since the poll started), I'm definitely doin' a boofer

2020-04-27 12:58:54 +0000 UTCWell thank ya! Honestly though, you don't need to worry about me burning out or not enjoying making them; I seem to be fortunately immune to that whenever I'm working on these comics! Still, I do make sure to take breaks and not push myself to *crazy* amounts; I'll be doing the same amount of work this week either way, so the question's really just about the posting schedule for what I *do* draw right now.

2020-04-27 12:57:43 +0000 UTCBalloon noises, eh *Takes notes*

2020-04-27 12:52:14 +0000 UTCTHIS COMMENT IS TOO REAL FOR ME RIGHT NOW

2020-04-27 12:51:22 +0000 UTCGood job getting ahead of your queue. Take it as buffer.

2020-04-27 07:22:24 +0000 UTCObviously whatever Wat votes for should win.

2020-04-27 00:21:17 +0000 UTCOops, I just repeated what Estragon said without adding any extra value. Um... ...BALLOON NOSES.

2020-04-27 00:02:05 +0000 UTCWhatever you think is best is fine with me!

2020-04-27 00:01:30 +0000 UTCWhat works best for you is fine by me. Your work is a source of joy in what has become a rather dark time. I take it you enjoy making these, and I would not want that diminished in any way.
Estragon
2020-04-26 23:47:43 +0000 UTCBOY I HEAR THAT : D Either way though, it'll just mean that one of the 3 pages being finished up will get released a week later, which isn't *too* much of a delay.
Val Salia
2020-04-26 20:28:53 +0000 UTCTrue! And honestly a couple things (including the coronavirus stimulus $$) have really come together to actually allow me to take a hit to the ol' budget *this* month in order to fill it out in the months to come, which is an opportunity that won't come around all that often.
Val Salia
2020-04-26 20:27:56 +0000 UTCWell don't worry, I'm gonna be staying inside and just drawing every day as usual, regardless of outside circumstances : D
Val Salia
2020-04-26 20:26:35 +0000 UTCSeriously, if this weren't such an opportune time to possibly get 2 comics' worth of buffer established, it would've been an easy decision!
Val Salia
2020-04-26 20:26:00 +0000 UTCYep! I mean either way there's gonna be a buffer, it's just a question of whether it should be 1 or 2 comics' worth this month.
Val Salia
2020-04-26 20:25:19 +0000 UTCHeyyyyy, thanks a ton! I'm always the first to tell people to put their money into important things like rent and food and stuff first, but if you've got a little extra to spare for a month or two that won't strain your budget, then this is a month that would make a particular difference in mine! : D
Val Salia
2020-04-26 20:24:44 +0000 UTCAgreed; that's what I wanted to do last month in fact, but I realized "oh crap I won't be able to pay April's rent if I put off posting this last comic," which is why 2 got posted in one day : P
Val Salia
2020-04-26 20:23:12 +0000 UTCTrue!
Val Salia
2020-04-26 20:22:19 +0000 UTCI appreciate that! And at the same time, it's really nice to be able to ask the readers what their thoughts are on things like this every so often, when there's a decision I'm waffling on.
Val Salia
2020-04-26 20:21:58 +0000 UTCI agree! Buffer is nice... then again, so is having an extra 1/4th "salary" this month! Either way offers something positive, which is why I was having trouble deciding.
Val Salia
2020-04-26 20:20:48 +0000 UTCHaha I'm going to be working hard to get stuff done this week one way or another, it's really mostly a question of "what does the audience feel about 2 vs 3 comics this week" : D
Val Salia
2020-04-26 20:19:19 +0000 UTCI'm greedy and impatient for more comics. I understand the importance of buffers, but I am hooked on this story and I want it all.
Thomas Halpin
2020-04-26 20:09:35 +0000 UTCI'm a big fan of buffers myself. It means consistent content for your audience, but also a more consistent income for you. Hell, if you work to get the buffer large enough, you can even potentially afford to take a longer holiday while you let the buffer drain, all without losing income or getting sass from your fans. And who doesn't like the idea of a summer holiday?
StarstruckEchoid
2020-04-26 20:05:21 +0000 UTCI don't really mind either way. Try to stay safe during these trying times, so whatever is more convenient for you. :)
2020-04-26 19:26:16 +0000 UTCAs some of the above posters have said, I want what's easiest for you. I'm fine with either choice, though I think an extra buffer would probably be the better option. Not because I'm annoyed or anything, but because I think it's better for the future.
2020-04-26 19:23:37 +0000 UTCWhatever works best for you is good! I'll still put the extra buffer option since there is nothing wrong with buffer.
2020-04-26 19:11:44 +0000 UTCAs long as you are comfortable enough financially, to my understanding, spreading updates out will help prevent that some people miss a page. From my point of view, it will always get posted eventually, so the best option will always be the one prioritizing the long term, bar any immediate need.
Shodow
2020-04-26 18:32:29 +0000 UTCAs much as I'd like more comics faster, the buffer option is probably better, artists are usually stressed enough as it is :p
Raan
2020-04-26 18:25:53 +0000 UTCYou are the artist. I’ll support however you work. Creating art is hard work. I learned a long time ago to use patience.
Vet
2020-04-26 18:18:39 +0000 UTCI'm honestly fine with either, so my vote is really for "whichever is more convenient for you", but all other things being equal im going to vote for you having more buffer for emergencies.
MelodyBunneh
2020-04-26 18:14:31 +0000 UTCGoin wild and stressing out trying to rush probably sucks, a buffer would be a good idea either way.
