I really want to gush about how I love this page and some of it's implications. Mainly that I can finally see just how strong Kassen's 'serious time' face happens to be. The whole time, he's been able to stay extremely lucid (not yelling when choking Brakka (just doing it); immediately recognizing that physically fighting back would be bad, that quick psychological tricks aren't working and so shifts to the next priority (aka Elim); able to confidently use his greatest asset (no holds barred truths) without showing how desperate he is (begging, fighting or running would be disastrous) and even seeming like having the upper hand.) Overlooking the one understandable lapse, his shown experience cannot come from a one time thing, especially so considering how naturally it seems to come when he (in all likely) has never felt so scared and vulnerable. He is extremely aware of how little he can do physically and of how easy he has to bend to anyone else's whims. The last two panels here are extremely terrifying to me and served as a good clue on how Kass must be feeling behind that poker face. Anything, I guess, to not show weakness in an unforgiving world or to prevent worrying those he wants to protect.

Six "stabs" on zhe ground. Zhree mugs for zhe circle. Old "Blue-Eyes" is dead or out. And zhe "Footsie" one is dead in zhe head. If each mug has one, zhen two stabs remain, plus zhe one zhe idiot is using on zhe crawlie. Zhis may be a chance for Kass to use zhat little derp. She could distract him, grab zhe crawlie & stick it on Brakka's back, zhen tell Footsie zhat zhere is anozher one over zhere, and to stab it before it gets away. In zhe meantime, she grabs zhe two remaining stabs and goes after zhe gang. She could even just zhrow zhe crawlie into zhe circle, zhen siccing Footsie on it and disrupting zhem enouzh to give her and Elim a fighting chance. But would it be enough? Does Elim have "plot armor" underneazh his Redcloak? Can eizher or bozh survive zhis? And yes, "Green-Eyes" has first been firmspoken and attentive to zhe execution of zhe abduction, but zhen strangely bozh attentive and silent & "detached" from zhe events of zhe interrogation. Could he be a turncoat-in-waiting? Or silently waiting wizh an agenda of his own? I zhink he could be a "wildcard", and potentially zhe most dangerous of zhe gang, eizher to Kass & Elim or to Brakka & company.

Actually, I'm almost certain that other than a brief moment of panic a bit ago Kass distinctly doesn't want to kill Brakka. Kass is pretty sure he can get info out of Brakka, but will probably end up killing him because Elim had to be a hero because he's Elim.

There is an extra knife on the floor since one Yinglet is distracted (it's not in his hand in the last panel, anyway). But as much as Kass wants to she'll probably have to settle for the big guy if Brakka is going to circle around behind Elim. Would be enough to break the formation and allow Elim to mace Brakka though.

Alternatively I want Kass to pick up a stab and surprise Brakka, but Kass' stab meet in the middle of Brakka's gut with Bez's like some kind of fucked up Lady and the Tramp spaghetti-knife moment.

As much as Elim kicking ass is cool, I still want Bez to show up. I REALLY want to see Brakka vs Bez. "Almost Competent? Meet Competent.
