The first couple of drafts of the Out-of-Placers involved Kass experiencing a change in sex, but not species. Kass and Elim would totally have become a couple, their appreciation for each other growing into something greater because of the experience.
Also I'm gonna say Lopin is a tailor in this universe.

Older sketch shows he still likes checking out sexy ladies, and we've seen at least a few times how his yingbrains get excited at the thought of hitting it off with the ying males, however much he may hate that fact.
