I love how much is going on between panels 8 and 9 despite the lack of dialogue and virtual lack of actions. Elim on the first panel looking determined to say the right things to comfort Kass, and Kass stuck between how to react. Then Elim's face softens to simple empathy as Kass relents and curls up. Also I do hope Kass properly thanks Lopin for his sacrifice, I don't blame Kass for snapping given the state of the moment but Lopin was being supportive at his own expense. I was a liiiittle mad at Vislet for not expressly apologizing to Lippy for snapping.

The last panel is kinda funny. And I suspect Kass' treatment of Lopin isn't that different from the way a native Matriarch would treat Lopin (or at least the way Lopin would expect a native Matriarch to act).
