2025-07-08 20:00:25 +0000 UTCOkay so let me explain the whole Woojin situation real quick, he left Stray Kids super suddenly in late 2019, literally right before their “Levanter” comeback. JYP just dropped a vague statement saying he left for “personal reasons” and that was it, no warning, no real details, nothing. His vocals were even taken out of songs that had already been teased, so it was clearly last minute. It was kind of a crazy time, honestly. They had to delay the release, re-record everything as 8, and just keep going like nothing happened, which is not easy. A lot of groups wouldn’t survive losing a main vocalist out of nowhere like that, especially when they were still rising. There’s still never been an official reason from JYP or Woojin, and a bunch of messy stuff came out later that made it even more controversial. But yeah, in short, it was rough.

2025-07-08 19:34:36 +0000 UTCWoojin was their main vocalist when they debuted so when he left it put a lot of pressure on the other vocal members (especially Han and Seungmin who had to take over his parts) and they were forced to rerecord all their old songs as well. Fun fact in Hellevator Han sings the high note for the hook everytime since he was the only member who could hit it despite not being the main vocal at the time.

2025-07-08 17:05:54 +0000 UTComg "Hellevator" is such a core SKZ song. It’s basically about feeling stuck in a dark place (like hell), but pushing through it and slowly rising up (like an elevator). That whole "hell + elevator" thing is the metaphor. They actually wrote it before debut, It’s about struggling through pain, loneliness, and pressure, but still choosing to keep going, so it really captures what they were going through at the time.
