Although they are the Japanese unit, they mainly promote in Korea, especially these days, since their popularity is growing in Korea. They still release albums in Japanese and do tours in Japan. Many of them are very close to Riize because when Sungchan and Shotaro (currently in Riize) were in NCT, they were supposed to be in the Japanese unit, and some current NCT Wish members are supposed to debut with some members in Riize. SM at that moment had a big issue+change in system with the departure of the founder, Lee Soo Man, and decided to pick members via a survival show called Lastart which never happened before in SM.
