Hey, joined your Patreon just to watch this one! FYI -Jennie was worried that only 100-200 people would watch their Coachella performance. They performed on the Sahara Stage, the second largest stage. It is an open-air tent which holds 44,000 standing audience and it was filled to overflowing, with people watching from outside. When they returned in 2023 they performed on the Coachella Stage, attended by 125,000 at each of their two performances (plus millions more watched in on the YouTube Livestream and it was broadcast live into Times Square, New York). Most companies take on the cost and then after the group debuts they are essentially in debt until they pay back the money that went into training (which can be hundreds of thousands to millions). I believe if someone doesn’t make it to debut they still have to pay a portion. However, YG doesn’t do this. They are highly selective in their trainee system for this reason. They know that it’s an investment in the long run so when artist debut under YG they actually don’t have any debt and can start earning money immediately. I also have heard some rumors that out of all the agencies YG has a better split of earnings with the artist than others!

2024-11-23 21:53:06 +0000 UTCthis documentary shows the hardships of becoming an idol then actually being an idol. it’s sad bc kpop industry is a very competitive industry so u rllly have to fight for ur spot. and even then when u debut, ur success isn’t guaranteed so it’s most def a big risk despite working so hard. there r so many groups and artists out there that are not known to this day despite working their asses off everyday
