2025-01-25 15:14:23 +0000 UTCalso would suggest Rüfüs du Sol or Justice for your next electronic listening! both have really engaging production and would be a good bridge if you're trying to explore the genres more!

2025-01-07 01:42:13 +0000 UTCSo happy you listened to this! Jamie xx is a legend in the UKG scene. You should absolutely checkout some of the popular Fred again.. Albums like actual life or ten days, I feel like it could be very interesting for y'all! The electronic scene in the UK is popping off again right now. Also Overmono, Barry Can't Swim and recent music by Four Tet are worth pointing out
Noah Bührer
2025-01-06 13:35:12 +0000 UTCTwo other recent electronic albums you guys would benefit from reacting to: KAYTRANADA - Timeless James Blake - Playing Robots in to Heaven The kaytra one is full off massive features and has great replay value the Blake record has a lot of the ambient techno you two were digging on this one

2025-01-05 18:51:59 +0000 UTCLoved this video and had a lot of fun with this one. I love this type of electronic music, definitely recommend avalanches (wildflower has great features and is more hiphop oriented), four tet, bonobo, Fred again, flying lotus( you’re dead!) and others.
Stephen Rodriguez
2025-01-05 18:49:07 +0000 UTCHappy new year to you guys! Since Kevin loved this record I would highly recommend Jamie’s first album, in Colour. It’s not as club focused as this but it is an EXPERIENCE. I think Kevin would like it as well. Also since there’s an electronic collection now I definitely would recommend digitalism’s albums “idealism” and “I love you dude” those are some great bloghouse records.

2025-01-05 08:48:40 +0000 UTCHeyyyyyyy friends!! Love that you listened to this album, it's not usually my genre but I ended up seeing Jamie xx at Pitchfork Music Fest in Chicago summer 2024 ... and immediately fell in love with this album. I'm seeing him again on 17jan and I'm PUMPED!!! PS: No new years resolutions ... just manifesting an exciting Beyoncé update (she has teased something coming on 14jan, but we don't know what it will be) !!!

2025-01-05 06:54:01 +0000 UTCthis was a welcome surprise for the new year! some great sounds man, and perfect sampling going on, hoping to see this guy at the next festival i go to! since there’s an electronic collection now, you should add Crystal Castles to that list! Kevin would be shitting in his socks!
Ben Dillon
2025-01-05 03:32:05 +0000 UTCIMO Jamie xx is one of the biggest in the scene right now. He’s been headlining many festivals for his ability to absolutely rip it on the stage, incorporating different genres into his sets and playing songs you didn’t know you wanted to hear. I’ve seen him 5 times now and it’s different every time — he excels in finding unique/niche songs to masterfully transition into his records (in which folks should listen to from a venue speaker system). Feels like Jamie has such a unique soundscape with his production??? It’s giving organized chaos (see “idontknow” or “KILL DEM”) but also great sampling of vocals. Fun fact: he helped produce “Ivy” by Frank Ocean and “RISE!” by Tyler, the Creator! If he’s coming to town, I’d give him a shot, you won’t stop dancing! Hearing Breather live is chef’s kiss Other recommendations for iconic artists, all with different energies: Against All Logic - 2012-2017 Burial - Untrue Four Tet - Three, Sixteen Oceans Vegyn - Only Diamonds Cut Diamonds Floating Points - Cascade Skrillex - Quest for Fire KAYTRANADA - BUBBA Flume - Flume, Skins

2025-01-04 21:16:23 +0000 UTCYou don’t really how excited that you both are now exploring the electronic genre. When I got into EDM in highschool I couldn’t quite place what drew me to electronica. And looking back, it was always because of the TEXTURES. Would love to see a reaction of Flume’s debut album, the artist that really got me hooked in the first place.
SoupyTurtle
2025-01-04 20:47:36 +0000 UTCLoved this reaction, this was such a fun album to listen to upon release and a great introduction to electronic music outside of Daft Punk. It's time for y'all to listen to Nurture by Porter Robinson. A hopeful electronic pop album about an artists 7 year struggle to follow up their ground breaking debut. Some of the best electronic pop of the 2020s thus far. A great blend of amazing production and heartfelt and heartbreaking lyrics. I think a lot of it will resonate with Kevin!

2025-01-04 18:35:39 +0000 UTCYou guys rock so hard. This was such a good way to start the year
Bryce Hendrickson
2025-01-04 17:57:08 +0000 UTCYou guys have to listen to avalanches Sinnce I left you or We Will Always Love You They use really great samples and it has the human quality that you all are talking about when it comes to electronic music. They feature Jamie XX on some songs and they also have a nasty feature from Denzel curry that rocks so hard It might make Kevin Cry
Bryce Hendrickson
2025-01-04 17:23:20 +0000 UTCHighly recommend The Batman, keeps the same gritty feeling of the show without feeling like a superhero movie. Robert Pattinson will blow your mind ✌️
Xavier
2025-01-04 16:25:54 +0000 UTCWould really love to see you guys react to Porter Robinson's discography. I think you'd really appreciate Nurture in particular.
Deen Tristan
2025-01-04 07:59:20 +0000 UTCThat Nilüfer Yanya record is such a flex. If Kevin hasn’t heard it please do a reaction. It’s so underrated.
Ethan Cook
2025-01-04 03:47:42 +0000 UTCThis can only lead to something as great as like, a Flume album reaction. I can see it happening, Palaces I think it’s accessible enough for a blind listen.
Ethan Cook
2025-01-04 03:42:43 +0000 UTCNicolas Jaar (particularly as Against All Logic) is a great suggestion, he has done production for FKA twigs, worked with Brian Eno, and has been sampled by The Weeknd. He makes something like house music except with a lot more experimental of an outlook. The sounds of the synths he uses are always so rich and complex that it sounds like he draws even from electroacoustic music. My favorite albums of his are: Space is only noise (2012) Textured electronic ambient pop 2012 - 2017 (2018, as against all logic) Luscious deep house 2017 - 2019 (2020, as against all logic) Industrial techno and house
Justin
2025-01-04 03:29:11 +0000 UTCSo glad you mentioned Promises that album is a 10/10
Ian Sinclair Harris
2025-01-04 03:26:30 +0000 UTCI personally think 2012-2017 is slightly better but you really can’t go wrong with any of his work he is a master of sound design.
Ian Sinclair Harris
2025-01-04 03:22:55 +0000 UTCAgainst All Logic i didn't even bother suggesting because I thought it was too niche, but absolutely seconding. 2017 - 2019 (released in early 2020) is my album of the decade far. Calling it techno / house doesn't even feel appropriate. Anyone looking into it should make sure they hear it with the original first track (Fantasy, now removed from streaming).
Justin
2025-01-04 03:12:49 +0000 UTC'In Colour' is much more of a challenge, so smart to start with this one. But the first is also a better (different) album than this one, so, swings and roundabouts... Stoked you're going into EDM - so much to discover. You'll need this if we're ever meeting up in Berlin. 😂 much love
Jon Scanlon
2025-01-04 03:08:03 +0000 UTCplzzzz do in colour

2025-01-04 03:06:50 +0000 UTCI think guys would like Fred Again a lot he makes similar music to this.
Alex Stevens
2025-01-04 02:10:36 +0000 UTCSo glad you guys are getting into electronic music this is one of my favorites from last year. I would also check out his first solo album “In Colour” as well as the one with the late great Gill Scott-Heron. Other contemporary electronic/dance artists I would check out in no particular order:Four Tet (and his many associated names), Nicolas Jaar/Against All Logic, Burial, Caribou/Daphni,Flying Lotus. Honestly electronic/dance music is such a deep and interesting category of music I hope you guys fall down that rabbit hole some day.
Ian Sinclair Harris
2025-01-04 02:09:24 +0000 UTCThank you for this info. I will most definitely be checking these out.
Joe
2025-01-04 02:00:27 +0000 UTCOk now you have to listen to Porter Robinson's Nurture. And since you talked about Avalanches in the video but you definitely need to listen to their first album Since I Left You
Jamie Bekins

2025-01-03 23:00:01 +0000 UTCEnjoyed seeing you try a new genre just like the original idea of rap and that's what its all about. Your dads comments at the end are spot on as someone who has listened to it for a while. I'd say your right on the edge of house here too which is why I liked it when it came out. (im no expert, just vibe wise). Would love to see more of this as it feels like you could have a "Black Seminole" moment of surprise with the genre which is my all time goated moment on the channel (That blew my balls right off). Cheers
Tyler

2025-01-03 11:30:17 +0000 UTCavalanches’ since i left you is insane if you aren’t familiar with it. the album is composed entirely of other records. hundreds of samples, 100 percent samples, and smooth transitions between every song. it is almost impossible to pause

2025-01-03 09:26:01 +0000 UTCSince you both found this enjoyable, Cascade by Floating Points is another house album from 2024, but more techno influenced. Floating Points is another English guy like Jamie. He got some attention in 2021 for his album Promises with the late Pharoah Sanders (prolific jazz saxaphonist) and the London Symphony Orchestra, which he composed. He had made abstract dance music before, drawing from IDM and techno. Promises beautifully combined minimalist jazz and ambient electronic music. Cascade was my album of the year bc it sounds like the wisdoms about timbre and texture he learned from Promises applied to his danciest and most accessible track ideas. As a reaction channel using headphones instead of speakers I am confident this album would be enjoyed especially.
Justin
2025-01-03 08:14:57 +0000 UTCYeah!!! Fred's storytelling and connection his music has with the listener is truly addictive!! And his sampling of his actual friends and artists he loves is unmatched

2025-01-03 05:21:55 +0000 UTCSuch a great album & awesome reaction, I'm glad you two vibed so hard with it. I've transitioned from the rap & rock/alternative world into the dance and electronic scene pretty seriously over the last few years. It's the primary genre I listen to these days and the popularity it's gained with my generation (Older Gen Z) means it's here to stay. I want to recommend some recent-ish albums that I think would both be popular on the channel and fun for you two to listen to: Justice - Hyperdrama (2024 release from legendary French duo... big Daft Punk vibes + two Tame Impala features) Skrillex - Quest for Fire (2023 album, complete sonic re-invention from a master, amazing production + beats) Swedish House Mafia - Paradise Again (2022 release from the GOATed trio, epic production + perfect melodies) Rufus Du Sol - Surrender (2021 release, the perfect melodic house music album, great if you liked the track "Breather") + and it's mandatory to listen to their most popular hit "Innerbloom" alongside it
Mike Donohue
