I just lost one of my best friends yesterday, and came to this to just reminisce a little and clear my head. Remember hits different right now than I’ve ever heard it. And Kevin around 1:40 when you started talking about life and being mindful, you don’t know how needed the timing was. I’ve been watching since you guys started going through the Mac discography, and the way you guys connect and share the feeling I get when I listen to Mac is second to none, and the willingness to listen to your son and come together, it would be a really cool thing to do with my dad. You guys are doing an awesome thing and I’m so thankful you record it and share the real time reactions with us. So glad y’all finally did this album. The Jay Electronica talk made me chuckle. If you listen to anything by him it should be Exhibit C. Mainly because his work is very limited. He really only has two projects (a mixtape that’s a 15min track rapping over the score to Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and a joint album with Jay-Z) with almost two decades between the two. Everybody in hip-hop just knew this man was going to be the next one up but he’s allergic to dropping music

One of my favorite things about this albums is the fact that you can feel his interest and dive into religion and how it has affected his world view and perspective. Being 10 when this album came out and not understanding certain lines, and being the same age as he was when he dropped it while diving back into it for the anniversary opened my eyes. Great album for those coming of adulthood aged kids who also became fascinated with how religion runs the world.
