2023-03-01 17:46:39 +0000 UTCLoved the video, but you probably picked one of the worst albums to do a solo reaction to lol. Since SRS, Earl's music has been so cryptic and abstract. He rarely uses a conventional structure in his music, which can make it really hard to get into, and the vibes are just so dark and confusing. I love this record personally, and it was really interesting to watch you kinda struggle with this one. It really is the deep end of hip-hop so it just shows how broad the genre is.

2023-03-01 05:35:22 +0000 UTChis first two studio albums have a lot more hooks/choruses and should be much easier to get into. his voice is waaaay different too. up to "i dont like shit" he went hard on the syllable-crazy bars (like the xanny line on super rich kids) but somewhere around 2016 he decided to go in a much more abstract direction . it might be worth having the genius app open for future earl listens, just so you can click on some lines for double/triple meanings. there's no way to catch all he's putting in there on one listen haha
