Was listening to giorgio, got the urge to come and rewatch your experience. What a song!!!

Jaysee M

Run the Jewels

Sergio Mendez

The YT video which brought here. I hope I am as cool of a dad later in life as Kevin is! :)

Julian

It's so insane that your dad turns on 'Love to Love You' by Donna Summers at the start, a track written by Giorgio Moroder. Impossible... I was waiting for that AHA-moment. Cool listening session! And I also totally forgot about the Paul Williams-song, broke me abit: that choir-bit is what they used as DP's final goodbye. So sad :(

Lars Ickenroth

i know this is an old comment but i would prefer strawberry jam. i want to see kevin’s reaction to that hectic album. 😂

undrxpsd

Can you set up a Pinned Poll post where people can add album suggestions and then people can vote on them?

mwdoom

Its so interesting to hear about you guys remarks and comments about the drums (as a drummer). It’s like, I was just thinking about that!

Emelie Andersson

You should definitely read into the making of this album. Super fascinating - they hired a lot of session musicians from the 70s and 80s (I believe) to play a lot of the instrumental parts here.

SoupyTurtle

As all the others have said, listen to Discovery please!

Coriander Pyle

Also would love to hear yall listen to Discovery!

Fefe Flowers

please do discovery next!!

Kyle Resende

are you guys gonna do fleet foxes

Matt Worley

thank you again, im dealing with a very hard time. and this gave me energy.

Dj Sal

And stopping with coloring book

BeefShrimp69

Please do Discovery next, I can guarantee you will love it

Tim Harlow

Or Sattelite Flight. The vibes on that album are strong.

Brandon Manaigo

DO INDICUD

Tim Bennett

Negatory

Cezzurre

Please do the new weeknd album next while it's still fresh

Steven Rice

hopefully you guys do Discovery album it’s one of my absolute favorites with one of the most fun openers. Fun Fact: Giorgio did the score for Scarface

Unsweetened

I need to see him react to Dawn FM

TheSodaDrinkerPro

I love these journeys of music yall go on. It adds a fresh perspective into the appreciation of this fantastic album. Thanks yall for what you do

Prabhjot Sekhon

Once you finish Kanye, it would really be cool for you to show your dad Chance the Rapper's first couple of projects leading up to coloring book with the impact Kanye had on that!

Max Labell

Please The Glow Pt 2!

Brett

Oh man, I would love love love love an Animal Collective album. So much.

Peter Thompson

i think you guys should do Birds in the Trap Sing Mcknight by Travis Scott soon. I think Kevin would love the production and features

Ethan Blart

Please do Discovery aswell

Julian

YES!

Pablo Solo

If you look up the video of them getting their Grammy for this album, you can see they wear their costumes in public. They also performed get lucky at the Grammys (also in costumes) and spliced in samples from their older songs

Lance Rosko

My favorite project is Macadelic so maybe I shouldnt be talking 😅

CRASH

swimming is way too far into his career. faces is a good intro to mac, even tho i think going chronologically is the best for telling mac’s life story.

LILprostate

Gotta be Discovery next

Michael Reeves

I was real excited to see this in my inbox - RAM is my favourite album of all time, I've even written several essays on it; while I know a lot of people think it's /good/, it's nice to see someone else really connect to it the way I do. For me, the album exists as a sort of love letter to music as a whole.

Wolve

Personally Faces was the project that got me into him

friggiesmalls

Oh I can't wait for you guys to do YEEZUS

Dirt McGirt

Paul Williams gave the acceptance speech for album of the year. "Touch" is the heart of the album.

Jordy

My favorite tidbit about this album is that, after creating the “Daft Punk Sound(TM)” by sampling 70’s songs, they went into the studio to make an album that recreated the recordings that they were sampling in the first place.

Diego Diaz de Berenguer

kanye and daft punk worked on yeezus too!!

Nisha Phatak

100% agree

N8 mih

Giorgio by Moroder has to be one of my favourite songs! such an epic track

Jeremy Shepard

Hmmmm I’m not sure Faces is the best place to start for Mac. Maybe Swimming? Or even Watching Movies. Idk I just feel like Faces is something you have to work towards

CRASH

i wonder if they'll mention animal collective when it comes to the panda bear track... cause I would Loooooove for y'all to do Merriweather Post Pavillion

Griff Dowden

Link to the album playlist. https://youtu.be/lVKbF8khsrI

Caps Malone

Man, you guys should check out the Alive 2007 performance of Daft Punk. Craziest show I’ve been to. Unreal album they put out for it on YouTube.

Caps Malone

Couldn’t believe he wasn’t familiar with them.

Hey Fella

Touch is my absolute favorite. Their criticisms aren’t wrong, they are just the reason why I love it so much. The specific section of the song they seemed meh about is my favorite. It’s so cinematic in the best way.

Isaac

This is how we know Kevin will love Yeezus. Daft Punk has production credits on a lot of that album. So excited for that

Keith Sabolesky

Really surprised how meh Kevin was on Instant Crush. I still think it’s a perfect pop song. Melodically it’s gorgeous, the production is fantastic, and it rides a certain kind of melancholy but groovy energy perfectly with just enough switch ups to keep it interesting.

Hey Fella

Please do this one guys

Jake Ellwood

Definitely check out Panda Bear and perhaps even before that, his main band Animal Collective! Would be cool to watch you both react to something like that for the first time. I'd recommend starting from the beginning, with Sung Tongs or Feels (my personal favorite).

Paul Burke

This is one of my favourite albums of all Time, thank you so much for the content ! Much love 🙌🏼❤️❤️

Arthur Klause

YES!

Amarveer Takhar

I am just reading about him now!! He is a legend - Kevin

TTT

lol @ 55 minutes in..is that Connor on caffeine?!

Shane Anderson

Crazy that you guys played Donna Summer at the start knowing most of her stuff is produced by Giorgio Moroder :) By the way yes there's Niles Rodger on the project but not only there's also "Paul Williams" who worked with the likes of The Carpenters, Barbara Streisand and David Bowie and can't forget about John Robinson who's famous for being the drummer on many Michael Jackson songs from the "Thriller/Off The Wall" era

Loic Reviews

Do This Is Happening or Sound of Silver by LCD Soundsystem pleaseeee

snowballsociety

Fuck yeah! Please do Discovery 🙏

sampparts

You gotta go back to Discovery!

DD

This is one of my 10/10 albums im so glad you’re listening together!! Cant wait to dive in

Keith Sabolesky

georgio moroder produced donna summers i feel love and love to love you baby hes known as the father of disco

Warren Bradley

yall should watch their coachella performance

GreaseGoblin

This album is such a classic

Tyson Jankowiak

This is one of the greatest musical pieces of all time in my ears. For years i listen to this album so many times from beginning to end and i still enjoy it greatly and find new ways to dance and appreciate

Raziel Candelario

I actually never heard this album in full(I know, I already regret it) but I'm happy I could experience it in full with you guys - thanks! Also did I hear correctly that Phoebe Bridgers Punisher is on the way? Can't wait to see Kevin's reaction to I Know The End Besides that I hope that Stranger in the Alps reaction will happen at some point as well, I rate it a bit higher than Punisher but both are great.

yellowflannel

Jesus i always wanted to listen to this but didn't because of other music but damn that second track is literally a perfect song. the mixing on it was soo clean. i'm very excited for the rest now.

Hmm idk

I was bummed out when you guys were sort of 'meh' about "Touch". I love that track it's so whimsical to me.

Christian Herrera

Daft Punk discography NOW!

BLACKDOGJOKER

Wow didn’t expect to see this reaction at all, still it’s an amazing album. Kinda bummed to hear that there won’t be any Kanye reactions this month.

Ersin Günay

Look up Panda Bear and his main group Animal Collective. Would make for excellent reacts!!!

Andres

he has def heard this before he hit the intro song drums with muscle memory lmao

Rene Pena

Stop teasing me with Illinois up there :)

yellowflannel

+1 to all the Discovery suggestions! great great album

Izzy Gomez

Apparently Todd Edwards is mostly a dj/producer, but he also did the vocals for Face to Face. Also, RAM won five Grammys.

KE AU

You gotta do discovery plzzzzz

Jordan Schickedanz

Daft Punk did four songs on Kanye's album Yeezus as well. On Sight, Black Skinhead, I am a God, and Send it Up.

KE AU

Panda Bear is from Animal Collective. I assume Connor has heard of them

Zach

I’m surprised you guys haven’t done “is this it” yet before “New Abnormal”. Great video guys!

Asron 12

Some info on the drummer that the boys discussed: According to a 2006 Sound on Sound magazine interview with the co-producer/engineer of the Dire Straits 'Brothers In Arms' album, Neil Dorfsman, then-permanent drummer Terry Williams' performance was thought 'unsuitable for the desired sound of the album' during the first month of the recording sessions. He was therefore temporarily replaced by one of the most popular jazz session drummers of the time, Omar Hakim, who re-recorded the album's drum parts in two days (!) and then left. Terry Williams' improvised crescendo at the beginning of "Money for Nothing" was used on the record. Williams would be back in the band for the music videos and the tour.

Jon Scanlon

Discovery next

Colaws

Would love to see you guys listen to Discovery as well. And, given your Currents reaction is what got me here, still holding out hope that you might listen to The Slow Rush too.

Jake Galloway

Daft Punk also did Black Skinhead off of the greatest Kanye record ever made.

Lori C

Next up, Discovery!

Zach

CANT WAIT FOR THAT REACTION !

Terry Jackson

I'm still watching, so I don't know if you come back to it later. (if you watch the Yacht Rock videos, Giorgio is also from space, but you know 😹)

Andi Watson

Also Stronger isn’t the only Kanye and Daft Punk collaboration! A few of the songs off Yeezus were produced by Daft Punk including New Slaves, Black Skinhead and On Sight especially. The instrumental on On Sight was originally made to be used on the Tron soundtrack and it didn’t make the cut, so they gave it to Kanye for him to rap over

Justin

Giorgio Moroder and Donna Summer were straight-up BFFs - from Wiki: "He produced singles for Donna Summer during the mid-to-late 1970s disco era, including "Love to Love You Baby", "I Feel Love", "Last Dance", "MacArthur Park", "Hot Stuff", "Bad Girls", "Dim All the Lights", "No More Tears (Enough Is Enough)", and "On the Radio"."

Andi Watson

First time listening to this album was watching this video and I have to say, wow. Gave me a new appreciation for Daft Punk and a different sound than what I'm used to.

NuclearHotPocket

thank you for this!

lordprettyflackoausty

fire asf cardigan

Mike Vasquez

Great surprise that you guys are doing this one. def worth keeping the patreon. love this album and i thought it was a great call to end their discography on this album.

Sergio Olivares-Rueda

Daft Punk also produced On Sight, I Am a God, and Black Skin Head with Kanye on Yeezus

Aiden Woodworth

Yes at 2:02:00

Matthew Champion

I feel like this album is best appreciated when you know Daft Punk's discography already because it's a sort of grandiose victory lap for them as artists while being an homage to the era in music that inspired them most. If yall go back and listen to their discography and then listen to this again in context your dad will see how they went from French house DJ's to where they are in this album which sort of transcends house music.

Nyko Rivera

Daft Punk also has producer credits on the first three songs on Yeezus.

Samu Tolvanen

By the way, Todd Edwards isnt usually even known for his singing, he’s a legendary house artist known for helping pioneer the subgenre of UK garage, he produced Face to Face with DP on Discovery and is known for some of the most insane sample chopping skills on earth

Vaughan

Kevin was born for Daft Punk

Kevin Clock

Ok now you gotta go into some Danny Brown!!

Macathizzle

Fantastic record. Would love to see your Dad relive some of the classics from Discovery. Daft Punk are absolutely timeless.

Funky

Awesome! Gotta check out Parcels as they’re quite heavily influenced by Daft Punk :-)

Mark

Should do the Runaway video instead of skipping to yeezus. Great video btw

mrd

On sight was co produced by daft punk

BabyRaff

another reason for this is because i want to rewatch this video after my first time through later, and mainly to watch certain songs so it would be nice

Rasha Rahman

Hope you guys listen to Discovery some time.

Scall123

Kevin's "Kevin"s reminds me of Merlyn's "Merlyn"s

Daniel Fernandes

Knowing that Mom goes back and watches after makes the wrist action jokes so much funnier.

SomeDudeInJerz

Crazy how your dad recognized Nile Rodgers' guitar playing like immediately!

Tristan Guerrero

the way kevin knew it was nile rodgers right away!! major respect!!

Eduardo Carrillo

Giorgio is also considered the "father of disco"

Rasha Rahman

No Way your father never listened to RAM

Paulo Alex

After The Strokes album I knew your Dad would love this one!

Isaac
