Dad Reacts to Kanye West - The College Dropout UNCUT

Comments

skipping last call is a sin

muahwii

hey can we get mbdtf uploaded on here i saw its on youtube but cant find it here.

Arthur Charles Hirst

Run the Jewels

Sergio Mendez

Last Call has always been the outro for me and I can't listen to the album without letting it play all the way to the end. Super nostalgic and takes me back to high school and the first time I heard it while ignoring my math teacher (sorry Mr. Wickham). Another awesome reaction.

Ian

I’m sure as Kevin recalls When this album was released you had to have the CD… And a good CD on the road trip was one of the most valuable things in the car

Chris Fullerton

On another note… One of my favorite reactions was when the introduction of Twista… To Kevin not realizing that he is known as the fastest rapper in the world… I actually had the pleasure of seeing him multiple times live and it is more impressive when you see him do it flawlessly from 50 feet away

Chris Fullerton

Last call really brings back memories… I remember getting this album the first week it came out and listened in into it front to back nonstop driving from Spokane to Seattle back-and-forth… Which I’m sure you guys are familiar with it’s about five hours and listening to that album and got me through a lot of boring road trips and I laughed and sang as loud as I could

Chris Fullerton

All RTJ albums!!

Chris Fullerton

Please listen to Last Call, you idiots. ❤️

Bryce Burgess

Watch the throne kanye and jay z

Isaiah Muhammad

No, LAST CALL is so essential! It really intro's you to Ye and his personality.

Brian Greene

They would have known if they just listened to last call lol

Daniel Mahon

Ye has a crazy ability to get the absolute best out of other artists. I feel like a lot of artists best verses, most memorable moments, are on Ye projects.

yabskee

Ditto 🙂

Ethan Case

I do suggest to go back and listen to Last Call and listen to Kanye closely talking at end. I understand why you said it's like ending credits but it's actually the story about how he got signed to Roc-a-fella and recorded College dropout. It's really interesting and inspiring and probably my favorite part of the whole album. It's brought me to tears multiple times.

wilson ramos

love the hip

Sam Panfil

Y’all should do a Run the Jewels record. Preferably 2 or 4.

Tyler Johnson

I really love the emotional arc of this record, from some social commentary on We Don't Care, All Falls Down, Spaceship etc, then a bunch of fun tracks, then personal stuff on Through The Wire, Family Business and Last Call. The greatest hip hop album ever made in my opinion

Matt Harris

Since Kevin loved this you guys should really do Common's Be album as part of the early Kanye era. Almost the whole thing was produced by Ye, he's on a bunch of songs and it came out about 15 months after The College Dropout

Matt Harris

Hey Miguel, We are doing Currents and I am really looking forward to hearing it :)

TTT

If you guys are still looking for a single to react to I would suggest "Swim Good" off of Frank Ocean's Mixtape Nostalgia Ultra

Brodie Stuckert

My god I love watching you guys react to music. You guys should react to Tame Impala when you finish with the whole kanye and cudi reactions (which btw I love and can’t wait for the other graduation albums, yeezus, The life of Pablo and donda reactions)

Miguel Gomez

Doesn’t need to be said, but I would love a reaction to watch the throne.

Kumaaaa

Holy shit, I used to listen to all of Sandurz Beat Breakdowns! Cool of you guys to incorporate his stuff into your shows, I wish he still made content!

Justin Rodriguez

Cheers 🇨🇦

TTT

reaction ideas: Kanye - the storm (yandhi leak), Kanye - Good Friday, chance the rapper’s 3 mixtapes, lupe fiasco - tetsuo & youth, Anderson .paak - Malibu, Mac Miller - swimming

Ian

Im going back to see what I missed :)

TTT

Hey Warren! I listed to all of Last Call after and loved it. Kevin

TTT

Great facts Damien.. Thx Kevin

TTT

Hey Nyko. Kevin here. II went back and listened to it in its entirety as it was super cool. I got quite emotional when Kanye was speaking about family in Family Business I couldn't help think about his mother. This song sure can bring up certain emotions and really really paints a picture in your mind. Thx Kevin

TTT

Thx Neil

TTT

Thank you Mario. I remember Sat morning cartoons and Fruit Loops :)

TTT

This Album was great and I really dug Twista !! Kevin

TTT

That track had me grooving really bad !! Kevin

TTT

Hey Ryan. Patreon does not host videos. So we much link to our Vimeo account. The Patreon app situation has now been rectified. Please check you app and let me know

TTT

I found it. If the link doesn't work properly, search "benny blanco – Apple Music ‘The Friends Keep Secrets 2’ Interview" on YouTube and start around 5:15. https://youtu.be/Vt3qpowacRQ?t=315

shprd

Apologies for my not-so-great memory on this, but I seem to remember a video of Benny Blanco talking about working with Kanye. He told a story of Kanye going "you know what this needs? Take this part from this decades old song, do x, y, and z to it and add it to this chorus" or something along those lines... and it worked beautifully. Your discussion about sampling reminded me of that and speaks to how in-tune Kanye is with his and others' music. (Any help identifying the video I'm referring to is appreciated!)

shprd

Kendrick Lamar - The Heart pt. 1

M47

Love the videos, keep it up guys. For a single request - Kendrick Lamar's Cartoons & Cereal

Steez

Im dead lmfao Kanyes Workout plan had you wanting to show off your goods at 1:26:00 Also love this channel, and the fact that yall dont label music, and just enjoy the music.

M47

Last Call is my favourite Kanye song but I get why you skipped it, especially at the end of the album. I just heavily enjoy the lyrics and feel the emotion and comedy closely in the song.

Blair Letham

Another great video. Probably the best content i’m consuming at the moment. Single request - Dance with the devil-immortal technique

Generik777

Was thinking this the other day. Would be great.

Generik777

I think the first Jay-Z and Kanye both rapped on the same track was on BluePrint2: The Gift and the Curse. A song called 'The Bounce'. I believe... You guys are great.

Lee_Stixx

I really hope we get to see some Chance. I feel like Kevin would really like his stuff.

Benson

red racer non Alcoholic IPA never tasted that before

Olivier Boily

I love this album

Vendetta Supernova

this is a must! christian Dior denim flow and Good Friday are legendary

Efren Solano

Can’t wait for Late Registration. That album changed my life.

Jimmy Jo

This album is also a new experience for me, i have to admit i never dug deep into this one even though i love Kanye's music

Bruh

Hey Guys, maybe you can react to some tiny desk concerts? I know you're probably going to listen to Mac miller, Anderson Paak etc.. but even bands like Cold Play have awesome tiny desk concerts! PS. Anderson Paak's tiny desk concert is a MUST knowing Kevin is a drummer 😍😱

Abe Raats

At my age these vids are the only thing that get my wiener plump anymore

Courtland Hughes

React to Kanye’s “G.O.O.D Fridays” tracks

Kerry Marshall

Fantastic video guys! Keep up the Kanye reactions pls

Bocaj

Can't wait for that jaw drop going from the OG trilogy to 808s

Trev728

OK, the accents made me suspicious but the hip made it obvious, you guys are canadian! cheers from NB

papaollie

Not sure if someone said already but through the wire he re-recorded for the album if you search the original on YouTube his words are slurred together alot more and more of the lyrics are a little different differently worth a listen

Blake Mckenzie

Can't wait for Yeezus, I think your dad might faint 🤣

pnx

Words can’t describe how disappointed I was that you didn’t listen to all of Last Call.. that track is so important. Smh

Florencio Hernandez

You should play the interview of Jamie when Kanye asked him to do the song https://youtu.be/RBcxw1llMKQ

Victor Abrego

You think you’ll ever react to old school Eminem before he got as corny as he is now?

Lex

This really helped me finish up work today. I knew Kevin was going to love twista’s feature. Can’t wait for the next album.

Miguel Perez

I hope you guys also do Indicud.. it’s not MOTM1 or 2 but its worth a video

Sean Lytle

Great video as always. Would love to see you react to the collab of the century, Forever. And an Em album if Kevin likes his verse.

BamsE

Loved and will love any Kanye reactions, I wish Kevin woulda caught the miracle whip bar lol

Isiaha

There is tons of unreleased Kanye as you are probably aware so that can be some cool reactions

Tyson Jankowiak

loving the fits today lads

Jacob Wilson

Loved this but don't think you should have skipped last call :(

Warren Bradley

Cant watch for some reason the Vimeo site says it’s not available

Jake

i cannot wait for Kevin to hear Yeezus

nate

if they do Watch the Throne they finna do Cruel Summer too lol

jimmyvinyl

i feel like Kevin would love Eminem’s MMLP with how much he loved the lyricism and different flows.

Keith Sabolesky

Since you’re doing the whole discography, I’d hope for you to do Watch The Throne even though it’s a collab, not a solo album. Too many people skip over it when looking at all of Kanye’s discography and only count solo albums. Just some input. Great video guys!

AJ

I agree. And also Ok Alright.

AJ

Great video as always, looking forward to MOTM3 and more Kanye. Also really really want ASTROWORLD, it's one of my all time favourites.

Kartofla

DOOM for halloween special

roberto

Your monthly reviews should include rating all the albums you listened to!

Jacob Smeaton

Mario Torres

AYYY BEEN WAITIN FOR THIS ONE LETS GOOO💯💯💯

Neil Donnelly Tosh

Already asked separately but can y'all do the Black Thought Freestyle on Funk Flex as a single? Also Kendrick's Control Verse. Thank y'all, you're the best!

Xavier Vance

loved the reaction, but i gotta admit i was a little disappointed that y’all skipped the end of Last Call. was a great time though, excited for the rest of Kanye’s discography! it’s gonna be a hell of a journey

gianni

I wish i could travel though time to binge watch all the Kanye album reactions up to Donda

Ersin Günay

At 25:20 did dad bust out the hub drum beat real quick?😂

Alvaro Hermenegildo

Love u guys man, but I have to say that last call is vital to the ending of the album. It has the entire story of how he came into fruition as a rapper start to finish. And as an artist I can say it probably resonates more as an artist to hear it because it’s inspirational. It gives me chills every time. Think you should really listen to it and read along with the story to get a full understanding in his own words, worth it. It’s the real outro and Spotify is crazy for getting rid of it.

Woahdere

This was amazing, keep it up. Happy to support!

Sait Cham

LETS GOOO

Tyson Jankowiak

Loved the video! 🥰 Keep it up! I hope you guys listen to Earth Gang and or J.I.D at some stage! I know you guys would have a blast going through any of their work

Ethan Simmons

Jay Electronica Act II or even the album with Jay Z, A Written Testimony. You guys need to listen to them!!

Tom Br

For the 100k special smoke a joint and do MOTMIII or something else super vibey(;

Tyler Alten

It was a good listen and a great time with you guys. Wish you would’ve listened to all of Last Call because it’s honestly one of his best songs

Trever Ebert

Would love to see some Peggy! Something like veteran or AMHAC would blow Kevin’s mind

quaxk

every album will be awesome to listen to you guys with. I would say Last Call deserves more credit, but also RAM and Currents will be incredible!!

Keith Sabolesky

Damn…… can’t believe you skipped last call. It’s a good story. Should’ve just let it ride…

CRASH

They deadass skiped the jacob with 25 thou line 💀 jk great video guys! Very entertaining as always

fun fact for kevin - the vocal chop on family business is sampled on 90210

Big Dog

when we seeing some classic kendrick or j.cole

Jacob Torres

dad’s shoes look absolutely massive

Big Dog

Amazing review, cannot wait for Yeezus and TLOP

Sammy 19xx

Kanye and John Legend became friends before they both got signed to a label. John Legend's roommate was Kanye's cousin and he introduced them to each other. Eventually, they began hanging out and recording music. John Legend was also one of the two artists Kanye started his record label with.

planetpopstar

Second this! SILY or Wildflower reaction would be amazing.

Gautier C

As far as singles I'd recommend: Jesus is the One by Zack Fox, All Day by Kanye, Lift Yourself by Kanye, Faneto by Cheif Keef

Nyko Rivera

Marshall Mathers LP

FN Code

gotta do a hov album now

conorog

You asked for our opinion in Last Call and tbh I think the talking at the end is important because you get to hear so much from Kanye in his own words and as an American kid that was how we always grew up with the album so to me it's how it's should be listened to but I can also understand skipping through it especially if you've heard it before. Also just wanna say this album was such a part of my childhood and listening to it again with yall was great, even got teary eyed on some tracks. I'm excited to see yall go through the rest of Kanye's discography!

Nyko Rivera

Kanye had a feature on the Jay Z's album the Blueprint

FN Code

please listen to demon days, or at long last asap

Jonny Huffman

is there a possibility to do timestamps on vimeo videos?

Matthew Carlson

or i guess, unreleased? not b-sides lol

dabbage

B-sides; Capcom - Kid Cudi, Angels & Demons - Kid Cudi

dabbage

First track that Jay and Kanye collaborated on was This Can't Be Life from The Dynasty: Roc La Familia in 2000. They've had a ton of hits together since then but The Blueprint (2001) is where they hit their stride together. Takeover, Izzo (H.O.V.A.), Heart of the City (Ain't No Love), and Never Change were all produced by Ye, and it's where they both hit that next level of production -- the rest is history!

Brendan

Confirmed next week 🙂

dabbage

You guys should react to Kanye’s first Grammy acceptance speech. Legendary.

Eduardo Reyes

Awesome! Looking forward to Currents! Hopefully soon? 🤔😅

jofo48

Amazing video again of course! Id love to see you guys do these tracks: The rodeo deluxe tracks “Ok Alright” and “Never Catch Me” Kanyes unreleased song “Never see me again” “See Me Now”- mbdtf bonus track As well as “If you say the word”, which is the previously unreleased track from the kid a era that was recently put out!

Trey Pavlik

Video is dead on the link guys. Can't you embed the video into Patreon directly? On no jumper Patreon it's just on the app

Ryan David-Randall Cook

id love to see a miseducation of lauryn hill reaction from you two

Gingy

Got it all figured out, I had to launch from the patreon website but we’re rolling! Cheers everyone 🍻🎃

Chad

Had to join you Kevin, had a beer, or 6, while watching this, and damn.. it was like a first listen again. Love it.

yabskee

doesn’t load for me :/

Jose Garcia

Man skits used to be so popular in rap. And I remember liking them.. but now I just think they’re quite annoying.

Jacob J

ngl, i was dying when Kevin introduced himself as Jordan Peterson.

dabbage

Does anyone know what to search on the Vimeo app for the video? The link isn’t working for me and I’m having a hard time finding it through the Vimeo app

Chad

Link only worked logging in to Patreon via browser not the app

Dawson Bernard

The talks about samples has got me really hungry for an Avalanches Album reaction, Kevin would lose his freaking mind

Max Katsianis

Some respect for the king of limbs I seeee

Joseph Lagasse

Is the third slot back there dedicated to Charli XCX records? I rate it

Henry Millman

Links not working?

Jacob Lai

I cannot wait for Kevin to hear Graduation. Every song on that album is amazing. I feel like Graduation would be his favorite album yet.

Emilio

So pumped! I cannot wait till ya'll get Yeezus. That's gonna be an absolute blast.

Peter Montaño

I'm buying you boys a beer each month, right here. But because I like to tease myself, I'm waiting for the YouTube premiere this weekend, before I watch the latest vid! :)

Timothy Payton

Looks like the app link isn’t working but web is

Ronald Guardado

I've been waiting for this video for a week. Let's gooooooooooo!

TCB

Awesome that you are choosing to go thru Ye's discography in order. Each album builds on the previous ones. All beautiful in their own way. All relatable at some time in life. Keep killin it!

yabskee

Working but only 360p :( Let's go tho!

giorgio santelli

that Jordan Peterson intro was funny af

C

Hey Trevor. Try logging in to Patreon via a brower not the Patreon app.
