Wowzers

Hey, everyone! Hope you are all doing well. :) I’ll get straight to the point of this post… I had a kinda wild offer just now from an audio roleplay app for them to license my Sevira Darling work, which was somewhat mind-blowing to me.

I’ve been in talks with them for a few weeks now to potentially create audio roleplay/audiobook content for their app with their own original scripts, and had shown them my channel during the interview process to show that I have experience with this type of voicework, but wasn’t expecting at all for them to take any interest in my work beyond that. But no, they truly proposed a plan where they would promote and market my work on both their app and tiktok, let me still make my earnings on Patreon, and split any earnings on their app with me 50/50.

It was a very nice proposal. I know it’s all business at the end of the day, but I did find it to be flattering that they liked my work enough to feel they could benefit from it in a mutual partnership.

Ultimately, I did not accept - after my initial surprise, I quickly felt uncomfortable by the idea, and I trust my gut more than anything. So after she was done presenting the proposal, I politely declined.

I guess I felt the need to share with you guys because even though it would have been an amazing opportunity, I like how things are. I don’t want this to be associated with any outside companies, and explained that my work on this is a real passion for me, that it’s not just about the money even though the income is a plus.

I would rather have my following/community grow through organic means and continue to work creatively how I want to and in my own time. Idk. I felt wrong about what I do here being used as a cash cow? and having other people be involved in the process in any way.

Thankfully, she was very understanding, and didn’t dwell further on the topic. I definitely feel like I made the right choice there.

On the plus side, I did get an offer to be contracted with them for the occasional commissioned work from pre-written scripts they provide me, which was perfectly fine by me to accept 💃🏻 yahoo!!! Best of both worlds! From the sound of it, it won’t be super consistent gigs, each with very lenient deadlines, so it shouldn’t affect my work here very much 🙏🏼 thank goodness because I could not handle it if every month was like these past few weeks have been for me LOL

So yes, establishing this for certain here and now - Sevira Darling content will always be my own original work that I create and put out exclusively on my own, and I won’t be licensing it or involving others in its distribution at any point in time! So I guess if anyone says otherwise uhhh… they’re lying? Haha

Anyway, I will see you guys soon with a script preview for the next audio ♥️♥️♥️

Wooo that is so cool that someone took an interest and liked your work, even if you did decide it wasn't for you.

Wowzers indeed! Good for you for trusting your gut. Honestly, though, can we talk about this opportunity for a second? Your work is so incredible, so it’s no surprise at all that you got this offer. That aside, it’s always such a pleasure to hear how passionate you are about your craft as Sevira Darling and the amazing community you’ve built here. You clearly know what’s best for you, and I’m cheering you on every step of the way. Take care, as always!

Good for you Sevira, it’s great your work has been recognised, but I definitely think so many do the wrong thing selling their property for financial gain. I always look forward to your audios and will continue to support you, not matter what you choose to do in the future.

Atta girl! Sticking by your principles and goals. Great to hear that your work is that well received and congrats on the offer. Sooooo…….. when can we see the next vampirexwerewolf segment? KIDDING! ;) In all seriousness, really happy for you and glad to know you intend to continue running this as your passion. Too many people fall into that hole of ‘just a paycheque’ and it shows. Their work becomes stale, or soulless. It loses that spark that drew us to them in the first place. Glad that’s not happening here cause I intend to stick it out on this train until you decide it’s time to bring it to the final station ^^
