Gag Busts: Mikasa Ackerman

What's good, captors and captorettes!  We had a little hiccup this week, but I'm happy to say we discovered something truly special because of it!  First things first, this week's winner (by a hair) was Mikasa Ackerman, from the Attack on Titan Franchise!

Anyway, onto our happy accident, I guess there was a bunch of potential voters out there who just didn't have a chance to get full comments in for a vote, going by the 50+ votes we ended up with on the poll!  I love that there's so many of you guys out there, and I want to ensure everyone feels like they have a chance to put their two cents in!

We're gonna try something a little different in the coming weeks (since Patreon seems weird about posting image headers and polls in the same post).  I'd love to keep the Poll votes going, but everyone's gotta put in new suggestions, so here's how we'll try it for next week:

I'm going to post the new poll tomorrow, and I'm going to recycle all the suggestions that didn't win last week.  Everyone who likes to post suggestions is free to come up with other options, and I'll pick the most diverse ones and add them to tomorrow's poll, so that we have a healthy selection!

Thanks for sticking by us as we constantly continue to grow and evolve to suit your needs, people!  I hope this is a growing trend, and we continue to hear from more of you in the future!  Stay devious!

Gag Busts: Mikasa Ackerman

Comments

I okay with a change. My concern is that popularity will trump creativity in short poll descriptions. The last poll appeared purely divided by name recognition. It turned out alright, but I worry that gag busts will just become X popular girl with Y colored ballgag. My favorite part of the busts is seeing the interesting and unique variations to the gags, Mikasa's actually being a simple but brilliant example. Edit: I was too slow on the idea, but I'll be back next week

It maintains whatever vote you place though, I think. If your cache is cleared, it might also clear your vote when you reload the page.

One thing though, I'd still like to maintain the "twice within six month or so" rule of Gag Busts. So, I won't be adding this one, unless you have a secondary character from the same universe you'd like to see , assuming the universe is a factor at all.

I'm not sure I understand entirely what you mean be "civil" for voting? Was there some form of incivility I didn't see happen on the poll? I mean, everyone is generally pretty nice to each other here either way, but perhaps I'm misunderstanding you!

Since the poll got a lot more people involved I'm going to bring up my old suggestion of 2B from Nier: Automata with a wrap around tape gag

Even though it's been done before. I'll propose Morrigan from Dragon Age. Mouth is stuffed and OTM gagged with a wide black bandana with a white qunari sigil on the front. Figured it adds gag variety even if the damsel has been done before. Plus I like how this came out. -Proposing this for the poll tomorrow.

To further prove my point, people are still voting! lol

Love the poll idea here, it's a great way to get more people involved in what gets worked on - but it would be a nice idea to have not just the name but also the gag-type included in the poll (next to the name) just to make sure everyone knows what they're getting.

Short answer is people are lazy and don't read. 100+ people voted within a day and that's the normal max number who vote on the other polls. Time doesn't seem to be a problem. 60 gag busts and people just don't bother to vote or don't want to. In my opinion they voted on name recognition and probably didn't even know what was suggested beyond the person.

The people have spoken, long live democracy!! Question, will the polls stay open the whole cycle? Or just the first 48 hours like in your previous method? On one hand, I prefer the idea of everyone who donates getting time to cast a vote- which the polls will really make possible! But at the same time, I feel like I might miss the comment-section voting, since people were pretty civil and orderly when it wasn't anonymous. I noticed alot of folks who always voted for last weeks runner-up, or for ideas that had been proposed for awhile. Is there a way to incorporate that same cooperativeness into the polling system?

This turned out great! I love it! The smile is a good touch!😊

Something to keep in mind, I think it was possible for people to vote on multiple entries
