Id recognishe that shtomach anywhere.
Aava was out of breath by the time shed waddled up to the cafeteria. Squeezing into her once form fitting had been a struggle, but she had managed it without becoming completely winded. The suit in question was unable to handle the few dozen pounds she had recently acquired, split down the middle to reveal her pale furred gut and stretched paper thin everywhere else. The stairs she had climbed, on the other hand, had pushed her to her limits, the effort made no easier by her binge with Demeter. It took her a couple of moments to catch her breath.
Texas had, at this point, successfully worked her way fully upright, easing herself into what was more or less a standing position with the assistance of the cargo drones that Demeter controlled. Snake-like metallic arms coiled beneath both of hers, helping her waddling gait, whilst two more had wrapped around her stomach so that it didnt drape against the ground quite so heavily. She was staring intently at the exhausted and red-faced bunny, Aava, though her Texass own breathlessness may have had more cause than just her weight.
LavenderThickShake? she asked, the words sluggish as they oozed from between her thick cheeks, far thicker than theyd ever been in her chat rooms.
Aavas eyes lit up, and she exclaimed,Steerswallower! She grinned and canted her head to one side. Gods woman, you look like you finally lived up to your namesake!
Texass belch momentarily interrupted a grin that couldve been ear to ear, had her cheeks not been the size of grapefruits.
Youre not looking ssho bad yourself, she said, a couple of flecks of spittle glistening among the rolls of her neck.
Texas was so monumentally fat that the only way she could see past the crest of her own stomach and her massive breasts was to angle herself, more or less side on. Hanging from the cargo drones arms, her sausage fingers clenched and unclenched as much as they were able to, a blush spread jam-thick across her muzzle.
Yeah, but nothing like this, the rabbit said as she walked forward in a wide circle around the wolf, examining her blubbery body from every angle.
Texas was immense. From breasts big as bean bags, to her massive, floor smothering stomach, and her huge wobbling ass cheeks that hung past her knees.
Aava smirked and coyly stated, You told me you were trying to keep in shape.
Texas shrugged, or Aava assumed that Texas had shrugged; it was hard to tell given the sheer amount of blubber that draped around her shoulders. Her neck fat quivered a little more than ordinary, at least.
I didnt really have a choish! Whoever you have on your ship, theyre one hell of a drone pilot. After a moment, and a deep breath, she added, and a little weird too.
Youre too kind. Demeters voice echoed from the cargo drones audio unit.
Aava shook her head. Fancy meeting you here, she said as she leaned against the wolf, her arm sinking into Texas blubbery mass up to her elbow. I wondered why youd stopped showing up in the Belly-Busting-Broad chats. Arent you supposed to be running recon in the styx?
What do you think Im doing?
Aava blinked. Oh. She gave the wolfs towering stomach a jovial pat. Well you look like youve got a moment. Tell me all about it.

Artemis was vaping.
It wasnt something she did often, but the atmosphere didnt feel right for Augmented Reality video gaming and she needed something to do that wouldnt give her lung cancer. She smacked her lips around what was advertised to be some sort of strawberry e-liquid but ended up with a distinct soggy cardboard box flavour. The e-cig itself glowed, illuminating her face in a soft neon light.
Any progress? she asked, flicking the expendable e-cig off into the shadows.
Were nearly done.
Demeters voice echoed from the half a dozen drones that worked, whirring and humming, to free the goose from where shed become stuck in the hatch of the escape pod.
Miranda had, for the most part, fallen silent after their initial conversation. She took her situation with what dignity she could muster, her chin propped up proudly against the bloated roll of blubber that surrounded her head.
Youre wasting your time, she said, breaking her self-imposed silence as the cargo drones pulled free one of the last pieces of metal that had restricted her. Her body began heaving forward to fill the newly vacated space.
Weve got time to spare, Artemis replied from where she was perched on a piece of scrap metal.
Frowning, she had begun examining the her claws. Anything was a pleasant distraction from the incredible mass that was oozing forward like a feathered landslide. Even if any decent medical center could reverse what had been done to Miranda, Artemis still found herself feeling a little guilty. She couldnt help but ponder what it must be like to be that big. Before she knew it a blush had gently crept across her face.
Finally, the last piece of metal was wrenched free and with a soft, almost squelching sound, Demeters cargo drones began to push the gooses heaving, bloated, wobbling mass into the middle of the hallway. Artemis looked slowly up. Already Miranda took up so much room. She was massive, at least one and a half times as large as the wolf theyd encountered earlier, so thoroughly beached on her own bloated, wobbling stomach, that her movement was restricted to a couple of vain attempts at wobbling. For her part, Miranda looked almost relieved. Her feathers had been crumpled where theyd been forced against the cold steel of the escape-pod hatch, and her body had been forced to mold around it in uncomfortable ways. Now she was free to lie atop her own stomach. Although it looked like a mortifying position to be in, at least it was comfortable.
Whilst Artemis tried not to stare and Miranda suppressed her own contented honks, Demeter wasted no time. Already cargo drones were floating into the hallway, each carrying a large metal crate like those shed seen in the cargo bay. The word SUPPLIES were emblazoned in bold, red lettering on each side of the crates and though some looked as though theyd been hastily opened, most of them appeared to be completely full. Artemis found her attention was drawn to the strange procession, the cargo drones like ants, building a small nest as the crates were piled neatly to one side.
[What are you doing?] Artemis asked curiously, using her neuro-link so as to not give anything away.
Demeters response was instant. [Im gathering a portion of the dehydrated food I found in their cargo bay.]
The AI didnt quite answer Artemis question, but she let it slide for now, watching with a curious mix of fascination and horror as the pile of crates grew before her eyes. When it was stacked three crates high and three wide, the drones begin to pull the metal lids off of the topmost crates, tossing them wordlessly to the floor and pulling out smaller sacks. Artemis recognised them instantly as storing dehydrated food. They were as large as sacks of flour, and each bit of kibble-like food within could be expanded to create an entire meal in proper conditions. The sheer amount of food present was mind-boggling. One of the cargo drones pulled away from the others, a torn sack of dehydrated food in one of its many arms. It spilled kibble-like chunks into its hands and began to approach the goose, who was eyeing it warily.
We dont want to hurt you, maam, Demeter said through a drone, its beady red optic lense fixed on Mirandas eyes as it approached, food spilling from its hands. The sooner you answer the captains questions, the sooner we can put a stop to all of this.
Why are you doing this? Miranda spat. What could I possibly know that could be worth so much?!
For a moment, it looked like the goose was trying to get up. Her now comparatively stubby wings flapped for a couple of seconds, trying to find any sort of purchase with which to lever herself onto her back, or even on her side. But the task was impossible, hindered as she was, by the stomach that she lay upon. An exhausted blush draped across her face as she sunk back into her own blubbery, rippling mass. Her face sunk slowly into the ring of fat that surrounded her head, wings and feet settling against what had once been her arms and legs, now little more than mounds of wobbling adipose.
Artimas slid from her perch, standing up. Youre the ones who attacked us after hearing about that derelict we discovered a ways back. She crossed her arms, readying a barrage of questions. Whats in that rig that you dont want people to see? Why is a Wayfarer shuttle decked out like a pirate ship? What could possibly be so important to a corporation as to warrant all this? She punctuated her inquiries with a gesture that encompassed everything, from the very fat goose, to the sleek, metal hull around her.
Miranda looked from the wolf to the cargo drones, silently frowning.
When it became apparent that Miranda wasnt going to answer, Demeter leaned forward and, with one of her spare, metal hands, set to work prying the gooses beak apart. A simple application of pressure to the sides of her jaws was all that was needed to elicit a honk of pain. The brief opening was seized upon by Demeter who began to funnel liberal amounts of kibble into Mirandas mouth. Artemis could only watch as handful after handful of kibble was piled into the gooses beak. When she began to cough and convulse, her beak was jammed shut and she was forced to swallow the massive, desert-dry load or risk choking. Immediately after the bulge had left her throat to join the mass of her stomach, she was allowed to breathe for a few moments, taking deep, panicked breaths before Demeter began to feed her all over again, pouring handful after handful of dehydrated food into the gooses beak. Mirandas face had flushed red in seconds, no doubt equal parts due to the humiliation of being force-fed, and the toll that it was taking on her body. Her desperate gasps spoke of lungs that burned for oxygen with each heaping gulp, and her fitful coughs were a clear indication of a throat that cried out to reject the food that was being so forcefully stuffed into her.
Water, She croaked after what must have been her fifth mouthful. Artemis winced. The gooses tongue looked almost cracked, so her throat couldnt have fared much better. I need... water.
The drones were quick to respond. One of them had arrived some time ago with a large tank, from which a glass of water was poured and then gently held to the gooses lips. Miranda drank like a newborn guzzling milk. She had to know that drinking water with a stomach jam packed full of dehydrated food would only make matters worse, but Artemis couldnt fault her for wanting a drink to sooth her abused throat.
This can end any time, dear.
Artemis blinked. Shed never heard Demeter sound so motherly before. It almost distracted her from what happened next. The wolfs ears perked, and she could swear she heard a subtle creaking, groaning sound, slowly becoming aware of the gooses already bloated body, ballooning even bigger. It was slow at first, like watching a timelapse of rising dough. With Miranda lying on her stomach, Artemis noticed the gooses back slowly rising into the air as she rested upon a stomach that was rapidly, impossibly, filling up with re-hydrating food. Her body had begun to spread out, growing in every direction. Her feathered sides slowly crept across the floor as her ass rose higher into the air. The most disconcerting part of it, Artemis pondered, was the sound. A soft, watery, squelching sound that filled the hallway as the goose went through glass after glass of water. If Miranda noticed, she gave no indication.
When she was done with the contents of the water tank, she almost sloshed, her body rippling with the slightest movement. Artemis had to wonder how she looked so big, and yet, still seemed to have so much more room left. Like a half-filled water balloon, Mirandas mass sagged and sloshed forward, rippling and wobbling beneath her. She took up almost the entire width of the hallway.
We can stop any time, Demeter cautioned as one drone hovered away to be replaced by another, this one holding yet more dehydrated food.
Bring it Miranda belched and a messy, beige cream splattered her cheeks and her chin, On... bitch.
The cargo drone didnt have to pry her jaws open this time, Miranda simply allowed herself to be stuffed. Perhaps, Artemis pondered, shed realised the futility in resisting. It certainly seemed to go smoother this time around. A couple of handfuls of dehydrated meals were poured into her mouth, she was allowed a few moments to swallow and breathe, a couple of sips of water, and then the process was repeated. By swallowing water after every mouthful she maintained proper throat lubrication and the amount she could be fed was drastically increased. Almost instantly, Artemis saw the difference. Where as before the growth was gradual and it stopped after a while, now she saw Miranda begin to truly swell.
The unsettling sound of sloshing blubber and rehydrating food began to mingle with a gentle, almost imperceptible creaking sound as the gooses skin was forced to stretch around her growing body. Her stomach was surging forwards now, differentiating itself from the rest of her massively swollen body simply by how much it was ballooning. Having long ago pushed Miranda into the air, it now made firm contact with either side of the hallway. Artemis had no idea how the goose hadnt burst, no idea how anyone could eat so much, but it looked like it was beginning to take its toll.
Miranda started to groan. Her wings were pushed at odd angles into the air, her legs undoubtedly completely swaddled by blubber behind them. She looked like a balloon that was reaching its limits, her stomach gurgling and groaning as it pushed forward, her body occupying more and more of the hallway.
Enough! Miranda slurred, water and rehydrating food dribbling from her mouth. It trickled from her chins, into the deep valley that her breasts made atop the bloated waterbed of her stomach. Even after the feeding stopped, she continued to grow, food rehydrating within her.
Have you decided to co-operate? Demeter asked.
Artemis looked on at the growing blimp of a bird in front of her. Bigger than anyone shed ever seen, bigger than she thought anyone could ever get. It looked as though if shed been fed much more she might have taken up all the space the hallway had to offer and been crushed against its cold metal sides. She was suddenly intensely glad it hadnt come to that.
Yes, The goose exclaimed, irate and in pain, the growing mass within her gurgled and sloshed to her every movement. Yes, godsh... youre going to kill me if you keep this up!
Why did you open fire on us? Artemis asked, walking forward to stand in front of the goose. And why only after you heard about the derelict?
Miranda was so incredibly bloated, so beached atop the balloon of her own stomach, that though she was lying down, her head was still above Artemis.
I have... had... ordersh to obtain cargo from that ship, urp, and to arresht anyone who had come into contact with it.
Artemis winced. Every word was punctuated with a small gout of goop being pushed from the overstuffed gooses mouth. The woman had become a fountain of trickling, glorping, calorie rich ooze.
Why? was all Artemis could think to ask.
Even now, even after everything, Miranda hesitated. Damn you, Kasara, she muttered under her breath. Artemis didnt understand what Miranda meant, but before she could ask, the goose continued, The derelict was abandoned on purposh. Theresh a shcientific development aboard... a few crates full of mushroomsh of great interesht to Wayfarer corp. They shent us to retrieve them. Shtocked ush with weaponsh and a Wayfarer ship.
The dribbling, trickling fountain of ooze had become so severe that Artemis had to stand back, lest she be sprayed with the gooses every word. She winced, observing the growing puddle forming beneath the massive, sloshing bird. Better out, than in, perhaps.
Whats so special about these mushrooms? she asked, knowing that the crates had been stowed safely in The Jackals cargo bay.
Everyshing... Miranda replied. Any dramatic overtones the statement might have had were lessened by the profound slur from the goop, spilling from her mouth. We dont know exactly what they do... but we know theyre important to Wayfarer. If you eat them you... change. The goose belched again, another wet splatter of liquid trickling down her chest. Your body shtores things differently. Air. Food. Everything is prosheshed weirdly. You get big. Bloated.
Taking another step back, Artemis considered her options. Miranda could be lying of course, but it hardly mattered at this point. Any further interrogation by Demeter might result in a messy end for the goose, a possibility that made the wolfs stomach turn.
You were hired to find Artemis struggled to find the right words. Mushrooms that make you fat?
Thatsh all I know.
Miranda nodded, or at least tried to. She had become wedged again, Artemis realised. No longer in the hatch of the escape pod, but in the hallway itself.
[Artemis.] Demeters voice echoed gently in the wolfs mind.
[What is it?]
[It seems Miranda managed to activate a distress signal before she was captured. Weve just intercepted a return signal.]
Artemis swore. Reinforcements would be arriving for Miranda soon. [How long do we have?]
[Hard to say. If you wish to avoid them, wed better move now.]
[Tell the others to get back to The Jackal, Ill be on my way shortly.]
Well Miranda, it looks like today is your lucky day. The wolf walked forward, one paw splashing in the growing puddle of ooze around the goose, the other planted squarely on her sloshing, groaning stomach. Were not going to pop you like a balloon.
Miranda looked visibly, palpably relieved. Despite what little give remained in her balloon of a body, she actually seemed to relax, sinking a little further into herself.
Were going to leave you here for your friends to discover. You better hope theyre feeling charitable and help you out. If it was me? Artemis leaned forward and pinched the gooses doughy cheek. Id leave you like this.
Grinning, she pushed off the goose and strode away, leaving Miranda blushing and fuming behind her. For the next while, the only company the bird would have would be the morbid sounds of her own massive, growing stomach.

Artemis knows that if she stays, shes going to be caught like a kid in the cookie jar with a ship full of Wayfarer crewmembers that have been fattened to immobility. To avoid a hefty fine (or worse) shes going to have to hard burn out of there. The question is, where should she go?
A, Follow the mushroom trail, the mushrooms were en route to the newly founded colony planet Amanita Beta. Someone there will know what theyre for, and why Wayfarer wanted them so bad. The shadow of corporate greed lingers over this like a bad smell.
B, Confront the problem directly. Demeter could lift the coordinates of a Wayfarer station from the SRE. If theres a price on these mushrooms, Wayfarer might just pay it. If they dont blow us up, first.
C, Get out of town. Theres a mining outpost not too far from here. Nobody will look for us there, but running has its costs. We wont be able to sell our colonist goods at a mining outpost, what will we do for fuel?

Its been a long couple of days and Artemis is aching for some bunk time. With her new freedoms, Demeters robotic arms are longing for use.
A, Its high time Artemis was made to see pleasure from Aava and Alexs point of view. Collaborating with Demeter, the three of them plan a great feast for Artemis, but is everything as clean cut as it seems?
B, Texas told Aava about the mushrooms, that they do things to people. Strange things. Can Aava hold back her temptation? Or will she be one of the first to try the mushrooms and experience their strange consequences?
C, Demeter still has a strong connection to the Wayfarer SRE and a small host of robots to assist the crew with. Jonas the kangaroo looks as though his walking days are over, Miranda the goose captain is full to capacity, but Texas looks as though she could go for round two.
