Pokemon: Mega Tactics - Chapter 3.2
Added 2023-10-07 23:26:35 +0000 UTCThankfully for Serena, it wasn't much long later that they came across a passing Nurse Joy and her Wigglytuff assistant out helping the local pokemon and making sure none were too injured. So they were led back to the Pokemon Centre where they could stay the night.
Not only did they get to sleep in warm, comfortable beds instead of roughing it, Serena also got to hand her new Vespiquen over to the pink haired nurse for a check up.
When she awoke the next morning, Serena noticed that Cobalt's bed was already made and he was nowhere to be seen in the room they'd got to sleep in together for the night.
Getting up and dressed, changed out of her pyjamas, Serena left the room behind and made her way downstairs. It lobby was practically empty, no trainers in sight, the only people there being Nurse Joy herself behind the front desk.
Apparently, according to Cobalt, Pokemon Centre's on Route's tended to rarely if ever get busy because they were so out of the way.
"Hey Nurse Joy, do you know where Cobalt is?" Serena asked when she got over to the front desk.
"Oh, good morning Serena," Nurse Joy greeted her with a bright smile,"He's just down in the training room with his pokemon."
"Training room?" Serena asked, she hadn't heard of a place like that in any pokemon centre before.
"Most Pokemon Centre's have them," Nurse Joy explained, "They're for trainers and their pokemon and us too of course, because we're always in the Pokemon Centre's, they're a big help when it comes to keeping fit and active."
'Oh, that makes sense.' Serena thought. With a few more questions, she got pointed in the direction to the training room by Nurse Joy and made her way there to see what Cobalt was up to.
When she got there, she paused at the door and held her voice. She suddenly didn't want to interrupt him.
He was lined up with all four of his pokemon. The one from last night she remembered being called a Gible, a Charmander, a Pidgeotto and a large blue horned pokemon she didn't recognise.
They were facing away from five identical machines. Grips wrapped around their arms, or wings in the Pidgeotto's case as they pulled hard. Behind them, she saw slabs of weighted metal being lifted into the air each time they pulled with one arm or wing, lowering, then repeating with the other, over and over.
'They must have been here a while.' Serena found herself noting. Mostly because of Cobalt himself. He was training right alongside his pokemon, he was clad in only a pair of black shorts and a white tank top, a white tank top that was practically see through with how much he was sweating.
She felt her face heat up as she watched him. She knew he'd had a pretty stocky build, but he was way more muscular than she realised, she could see his biceps and shoulder muscles ripple with each pull, and could just make out well defined abdominal muscles through his damp tank top.
Serena must have watched him for a good few minutes before she realised what she was doing and turned on her heel, leaving the training room behind. She didn't want to disturb him when he was so into it, and watching him working out so hard alongside his pokemon lit a fire in her.
'I'm going to see how Vespiquen is doing!' Serena decided.
____________
After a full hour of intense training, you decided it was enough and went to get some breakfast with your pokemon. You'd gotten up bright an early again this morning and decided that getting a quick and good work out was the optimal choice. Right after a cold show of course.
Serena hadn't put much thought into her sleeping attire apparently. But they did a number on your self control. Really, the tiny little pink shorts and skimpy little purple hoodie that left nothing to the imagination, especially on a girl as curvy as her was way too stimulating.
Really, it was a wonder the girl felt self conscious at all in comparison to Dawn last night when she had a body like that.
Surprisingly when you were done, Serena was already up as well, but according to Nurse Joy, was having her first proper face to face meeting with her new Vespiquen alongside one of Nurse Joy's Wigglytuff.
Well, you wished her luck. While she was doing that, you decided to eat breakfast quickly with your pokemon and then head out into the forest for a bit. You remembered that the Beedrill hive you ran into a while back wasn't far from the Pokemon Centre, just about a ten minute walk and decided to head there.
It didn't take much time at all to reach your destination. Just a short walk through the forest. But you couldn't help but snort that the moment you walked into the clearing you remembered their hive being located in, a buzz of alarm shot through the area and dozens of Beedrill shot into the air above you, preparing to attack. One particularly large Beedrill at the front of them all staring down at you with glowing crimson red eyes.
The big boss of the hive.
"Looks like they remember me." you mused. Or perhaps, more remembered your Gible kicking the crap out of them all.
You palmed two of the pokeballs on your belt, just as the lead Beedrill gave a buzz and pointed one massive lance arm at you. As one they charged, just as you released your two pokemon, "Charmander, Ember! Gible, Flamethrower!" you snapped out a pair of orders.
Your first two pokemon appeared before you, Charmander spraying a deluge of small flame bullets into one side of the charging Beedrill swarm, while Gible unleashed an outright large torrent of flame that washed over the other side.
There were twenty one Beedrill in total you counted. And sixteen of them fell from the air under the duo of attacks. All the ones hit by Gible went down hard, while Charmander managed to bring down roughly half of the ones on his side.
"Protect." you followed up with as the remaining five, including the leader closed the distance.
"Gib!" Gible nodded and thrust his stubble little arms out, conjuring a large spherical green barrier around you and the two pokemon.
Five pairs of massive stingers slammed into the barrier, attempting to pierce through it. Gible winced a bit, and the barrier rippled and wavered slightly, but in the end held strong.
Four of the Beedrill were repelled by the barrier, but the leader continued to push against it, trying to break through. He was a stubborn one. You liked that.
"Charmander, finish off the other four, Gible, Dragon Claw." you ordered.
Gible let go of the barrier and shot up, massive ethereal green claws of energy bursting into existence around his small arms, which he them slammed into the lead Beedrill, jettisoning it back through the air as it buzzed loudly in pain.
Charmander followed up by shooting through the air with Flame Charge, slamming into one of the four other Beedrill and slamming it into the ground, before turning and firing off another barrage of ember that took down two more, and chasing down the last and bringing down tow Metal Claw's on its head an slamming it hard into the ground.
"Char!" Charmander landed and flashed you a thumbs up. You gave one back.
The remaining lead Beedrill bounced off of the ground and shot back up into the air. It flew towards you and Gible, clasping its lances over tis head and began rotating rapidly, an orange of orange power bursting into existence around you, forming into a drill like shape.
'That's Drill Run!' your eyes widened lightly. That was quite the powerful move that Bedrill had learned since you last faced off against it.
"Ember, Protect!" you ordered quickly.
Gible quickly conjured another spherical green barrier around you both, just in time for Beedrill to slam into it and drill into it! The barrier spraked and rippled under the attack and Gible groaned, arms being pushed back as he tried to hold the barrier.
Beedrill really had gotten way stronger than before!
Just before it could break right through the barrier though and smash it to pieces, Charmander's barrage of Ember attacks slammed into Beedrill from behind.
Its concentration was broken as it buzzed in pain, turning to face Charmander, and you took that as your chance, "Flamethrower!" you commanded Gible.
Your first pokemon dropped the barrier and unleashed a powerful large torrent of red hot flames into Beedrill's back, pushing it further into the air and burning it. When the attack faded away, Beedrill dropped to the ground, body sizzling.
Despite the damage it took, Beedrill still tried to push itself back up. "You've gotten even stronger, not bad Beedrill," you stepped up to it and pulled one of your mega stones out, holding it up for Beedrill to see, "Have you seen anything like this around anywhere here?" you asked.
Beedrill blinked at you, buzzing in annoyance. But shook its head in the negative. "No luck then huh?" you clicked your tongue, "Oh well, at least this trip isn't a loss anyway." You replaced the mega stone in your hand, with an empty pokeball.
Beedrill's eyes widened, "You're mine Beedrill."
Beedrill was unable to dodge the pokeball that plonked against its head a moment later.
_____________
When you made your way back to the Pokemon Centre, to your surprise, Serena was sitting out on the deck at one of the tables eating breakfast, and Vespiquen was there to, standing right next to her at the table, eating from a bowl of pokemon food.
"Oh hey!" Serena waved at you when she noticed you coming back out of the forest, "Where did you get to?
"There was a beedrill hive I ran into out here a while back, so I wanted to check it out now that I'm an actual trainer," you replied, making your way over and climbing up and vaulting over the railing onto the deck, "I didn't quite get what I was looking for, but I did catch a pretty strong Beedrill."
"Oh, congratulations," Serena smiled brightly, she gestured out to Vespiquen only to notice, the pokemon was now behind her back, hiding from you, "Oh, don't be scared Vespiquen, Cobalt isn't a bad guy, he won't hurt you."
It took a few moments before she was able to coax the pokemon out from behind her. When she did and you sat down at the table, Serena explained that according to Nurse Joy, Vespiquen had only attacked originally because it was spooked since it was all alone. As you had guessed, it was a very young pokemon that had only evolved recently.
"She seems to have warmed up to you quickly." you noted as Vespiquen hugged Serena's arm and the older girl pat the female pokemon gently on the head.
"Well, I can understand how she was spooked I guess and I decided to be a little bolder from now on and take a page from your book." Serena grinned and winked at you.
"Oh I think you're plenty bold already." you snorted in amusement. She'd have to be, to wear what she did to bed while rooming with you.
Serena blinked in confusion, "What do you mean?" she asked.
"Nothing important," you waved it off, "So, once you're done eating, you want to get going and get to Lumiose City?" you changed the subject.
Her lovely blue eyes practically sparkled, "Oh yeah, I can't wait to pick up a pokemon From Professor Sycamore!" she gushed, "Not to mention, there's these beautiful boutique's and lovely little cafe's I read about online that I really want to visit!"
