Systematic Magus - Chapter 2.1
Added 2022-06-10 18:19:13 +0000 UTCThe very next day, Daiki sat behind the desk that once belonged to his father, and briefly while he was dead for a short time, his older brother.
There was a frown on the teen magus' face as he idly drummed his fingers over the fine mahogany surface, a masterpiece of woodsmanship that cost more than the average family made in a year.
Strewn across the desk there were a variety of items. The orb containing his family crest, the Primevil Battery, the mana crystal that was once his older brother and last but not least, something he found in his brothers desk.
A small jewelry box containing a heavily rusted and ancient looking tiara, or crown, it was hard to tell the difference with how aged it was, but he could feel the deep mystery surrounding it. It was ancient, and had ties to legend.
Most likely, it was the crown Medea of Colchis once wore when she was still a princess before Aphrodite cursed her to fall in love with that buffoon Jason and murdered brother.
His eyes glanced down to his right hand that was drumming on the surface of his desk, and he idly examined the three crimson red conjoined markings on the back of his hand.
The first thing this morning, he'd transferred the command seals from his brothers hand to himself.
His Command seals he found, were rather interesting. He remembered from the memories of his other self, Kirei Kotomine using them to channel prana against Kiritsugu Emiya and using them as sacrificial shields against the mans Origin Bullets.
He found that he could do the same, and that they were a perfect match for his own Magic Circuits in both quality and output. They weren't quite magic circuits, but they could be used in rather the same manner.
So for all intents and purposes, as long as he had these, he had a few extra 'magic circuits' to use as he pleased.
'A ten percent increase roughly, but still incredibly useful.' Daiki mused. And would go well in hand with the output he'd gain from his family crest.
Ironically, his family crest was made up of twenty nine magic circuits, one added to the crest by each generational head of the Galliasta. Prior to himself, there had been twenty nine generations of his family. His family after all, had been around for just shy of fifteen hundred years.
When he had the crest implanted, it would adapt to him and match his own magic circuits in quality and output. More or less, doubling his original output if he used it in conjunction with his own inborn magic circuits.
'If I'm not wrong, with my circuits, my crest and the command seals, I'll have a total output of 1830 prana units, which should be more than enough to sustain a typical servant even without the Holy Grail's help.' Daiki mused inwardly.
Especially the likes of a Caster class servant like Medea of Colchis.
He chewed his lip.
Medea of Colchis in no way would be a match for the likes of Herakles, never mind Gilgamesh. And if Arturia Pendragon was summoned again, and she had a proper master, then much of Medea's repertoire would be useless against the King of Britain.
…But, Medea was one of the greatest mages to ever live, right up there with the likes of Merlin, Morgana and even perhaps Solomon.
Medea was not a warrior, but, if she was supporting and helping a warrior…like say himself grow, then it may be possible for him working with her to supplant and defeat Herakles and Gilgamesh.
That in of itself made her a fantastic servant, especially with prep time. And if his estimates were correct, he was roughly around six to eight months away from the grail war beginning.
Granted, he only had a mention from Rin Tohsaka to go on from his other self's memories of her claiming it was cold, but not yet winter in the visual novel he played, but he could work with that.
Or rather he'd have to.
"Siegfried wouldn't have been bad at all either." Daiki smirked idly. That was a route he knew of for an instant power up making him capable of taking on a servant.
It would have been so simple as well. Summon Siegfried, have the man tear out his heart and fuse it with Daiki himself, just as he had with that homunculus boy Sieg, and then use a command seal to heal him.
And with his sorcery trait, there was a massive chance he would be able to adapt to it much better than Sieg ever did.
He'd have two routes there, having the full power of Siegfried at his beck and call, able to summon even Balmung, or having the ability to become Fafnir. Whichever one came about, he'd be much much more powerful than before.
Risky as all hell mind you, but he would have to take some risks if he wanted to stop the absolute cluster fuck that was going to come about.
And he already had multiple ways he could think of to mitigate the risks.
One of them just so happened to be sitting around inside a Japanese red haired hero wannabe.
Avalon.
Its abilities were massively lowered due to not being connected to Arturia any longer, but, it still provided a small healing factor, a healing factor potent enough to keep Shirou Emiya alive and not paralyzed through the absolute stupidity of turning his nerves into magic circuits every damn day.
He could grab that at anytime really, the fool had no capability of stopping Daiki by himself and had nobody watching over him.
And he felt no particular attachment to the guy. He would feel no guilt taking it and leaving him to his own devices.
'Though, he could be useful as a meat shield, and he can counter Gilgamesh with his stupidly broken abilities.' Daiki mused. Honestly, he felt the urge to capture the guy and research his body.
A natural Reality Marble in a human. How fascinating, there had only ever been six known cases of humans developing them in the Clocktowers history. The kind of mystic code he could create from Shirou Emiya's body could perhaps rival a Noble Phantasm.
But no, he could always do that later if it came down to that.
…But no, he had a much better idea. Anything he done with Shirou Emiya, would be more potent if he had his magic circuits unlocked. That made things simple in keeping him from killing himself early on without Avalon.
He'd just take a quick trip to Fuyuki, jump the guy, knock him out, retrieve Avalon from his body, unlock his magic circuits for him and then leave a note pinned to his chest, act as a mysterious benefactor for him and all that.
Which would keep him in the running.
For becoming a Master.
'With Medea's Rule Breaker, we could steal his command seals as well and summon a second servant.' a grin spread across Daiki's face.
And he would have Avalon in his possession then.
Which would allow him to summon Arturia.
Arturia at full power, not the underpowered Saber that Shirou had because of his lacking abilities as a magus.
An Arturia that could then be enhanced by Medea to even greater heights, like she had Kuzuki.
So then, Medea was definitely the best option to go with.
…Especially since it would take someone of her calibre to flush out the grail and fix it and allow them to actualize a wish.
"…Summoning will have to wait though." Daiki sighed, leaning back in his chair.
For all that he wanted to summon Medea now and could, she was called the witch of Betrayal for a reason.
His brother got betrayed by her, because he was a complete and utter fucking tool. But, he had no guarantee she wouldn't come to dislike him either and betray him. Especially because he had no interest in wasting his command seals like Atrum would have being a petty retard just because he couldn't get a dragon to play with.
Honestly, knowing his brother, it was also highly likely he used his authority over Medea to force her into his bed as well. He couldn't be sure, but it was a distinct possibility with him.
But, even then, he wanted some assurance just in case.
A good thing he had a few things to work with, his eyes drifted back to the desk.
Specifically, on the Primeval Battery. It was no Noble Phantasm, but the power it bestowed was incredible. He just didn't like it before, because of how unwieldly it was.
…It was a literal little pot.
But now that he was the head of the family with nobody around to frown and mutter in annoyance about traditions and blah blah blah, he could put his alchemy to good use and see about changing its shape.
"And maybe improve it along the way." Daiki smirked, eyeing the mana crystal that was once his brother.
That, alongside all the crystals he'd gathered up from all his human sacrifices, combined with the Primeval Battery would make for an incredible combat oriented mystic code.
Daiki stood from his desk and stretched out any kinks, "If I leave now, I can be in Fuyuki and back by tomorrow." he mused to himself.
Plenty of time before the surgeon he'd called upon would arrive to implant his family crest in his body. He'd been waiting for over six months for her to be available.
She was no magus, but, she was a top tier spiritual surgeon, learned apparently from her father.
Caren Hortensia.
Who's skills as a surgeon Daiki would not underestimate, not now that he knew of just how skilled her father Kirei Kotomine was.
'Still, some insurance doesn't hurt.' Daiki hummed. Even with her skill and his sorcery trait, there was still the slim chance of something going wrong with the crest implantation.
Going straight for Avalon would lower those chances even further.
______________
It took eleven hours to fly from England to Japan. Not exactly the country he was born in, but atypical of most families that wanted to stay connected to the Clock Tower.
Well, it generally took a little bit longer than that for standard flights. But, he was not a standard person.
His family, or rather just he himself alone, owned his own private jet. It was mostly used by Atrum, because the liked gallivanting around, never able to sit still for five minutes.
Though Daiki supposed it worked out in the end. Since his older brother had long since forced his slaves to learn how to not only drive, but fly the jet so he didn't need to bother with it himself.
Smart of him Daiki mused.
And he benefited from it himself, able to relax and not focus on flying it himself.
Or rather, focus on improving his body. He had to take advantage of all the time he had available to him and scrape every little piece of advantage he could.
As such, his free time belonged to the grind.
"I wonder if Avalon will help with this?" Daiki mused as he stepped down out of the private jet, idly rubbing at the aching muscles of his bicep.
He could use some minor healing spells, but it wasn't at all fast and took a lot of effort. If Avalon could passively heal his musculature after training, even if only enough to allow him to train again after a few hours, it would speed up his physical training massively.
Two of Atrum's former slaves a small petite blonde and a short haired brunette, now dressed in short skirted maid outfits that he'd pilfered from his brothers perverted fetish collection bowed to him at the bottom of the stairs leading from the jet.
He waved them off, ordering them to await his return, and they did as told, making their way back up and inside the jet to wait for him.
'Status.' Daiki thought to himself as he made his way over the landing pad of the airport he landed in and got this show on the road.
Name: Daiki Galliasta Yurei

Origin: ?
Hmm.
It was interesting to see that his circuits now reflected the command seals as well, even when they were not strictly magic circuits. Perhaps it was just treating them as some as a generalization?
Beyond that though, he was very much confused over the physical stats reflecting back at him.
…He was not one to brag-
Wait, actually, he very much was.
But, Daiki had been trained since he was but a young lad in the art of combat. Physical conditioning was a massive part of that. And he was proud to say he could lift well over a thousand pounds.
Yet on the human scale, he was only a bit over a fifth of the way to the maximum amount. The only way he could make heads or tails of that scale, was if it was a measurement of the true peak amount a human was known to have listed.
The heaviest weight recorded that a standard modern human had ever lifted, was 6,270 pounds.
But, that did not reflect at all in the Agility side of things. Without Reinforcement, Daiki's fastest time at a sprint was roughly twenty seven or so miles per hour.
The fastest he knew of that a human had been recorded moving at naturally in this age, was around forty miles per hour.
He was well above a fifth of that.
'There is of course the possible answer that modern humans have not figured out how to move as fast as they possible can naturally.' Daiki mused. If that was so, and if that reflected in the stats, then peak human speed of this day and age without any magical enhancements active, would be roughly around one hundred to one hundred and ten miles per hour.
That did kind of measure up the more he thought on that. Exorcists from the church rarely used magical enhancements physically, and a standard one was well stronger and faster than even the greatest mundane human athlete.
The exorcist that taught Daiki growing up for instance, a man from the Fraga family, long since dead now, had been far faster than Daiki was currently if he wasn't reinforcing himself, and that was without the man using reinforcement himself or runes.
'Hmm, now there's a thought.' Daiki paused.
Reinforcement and physical enhancement runes. That would be quite the boost. 'Not to mention they could go a long way to making my mystic code stand up to Noble Phantasm's in the future.' he mused.
It would cost him a lot to learn runes though. They were a simple craft in all honesty. But, the information on runes themselves were jealously guarded.
His best bet would be a Fraga. And one that liked money.
"…Thoughts for later." Daiki shook his head and put it out of mind. He had a shiny golden sheath to go grab right now after all.

Ah the grind makes it's appearance.
