Armament Hero Academia - 2

The three years of Junior High seemed to have just flown by with how much of your time you spent training.

'I can't believe I'm finally here.' you couldn't stop the massive grin from splitting across your face.

There was a mass of hustle and bustle around you as you stood at the entrance leading up to the vaunted and legendary U.A High School, but you ignored them. You were unable to smother the excitement pulsing through your veins and the butterflies fluttering through your stomach.

The glittering sunlight reflected off of the windows of the massive academy and shone almost beautifly. Twelve years you'd been preparing for this, since you first unlocked your quirk you'd been working hard towards entering this school the greatest hero academy in the entire world. The place that churned out heroes such as Mirko, Best Jeanist, Endeavour and even All Might, the greatest hero in the world and the symbol of peace himself. It was a legendary line up of alumni, and a group you yourself planned on joining someday in the future.

You could have stared up at the building that was your ambition for twelve years straight, since you were but a runty little toddler for hours, and would have probably stayed there for quite a while.

If not for somebody bumping into your back.

"Ah, sorry!" a girls voice echoed in your ears.

You looked back over your shoulder, one eyebrow raised to see a rosy cheeked, brown haired girl rubbing her nose, most likely from bumping in to you.

"It's okay," you replied, lips tugging upwards a bit in amusement, you hadn't even been budged an inch and it was her that got hurt, "I shouldn't have been just standing around at the entrance anyway."

"No, no, I should have been walking where I was going, ya' know?" her other hand rose up to rub sheepishly at the back of her head, "I was waving to someone after helping them and wasn't paying attention, you see." she explained, hand coming off the back of her head to point at a boy about fifteen feet back standing still himself in the middle of the path leading up to the academy. A boy dressed in a black uniform with messy green hair and one of the oddest looks you'd ever seen on a boys face

You stared at the boy as he stared off into space for a few moments before shaking your head and giving your attention to the girl again, "Like I said, it's fine." you waved her off.

The girl gave a sigh and stopped rubbing her nose, "Well, thanks," she smiled cutely at you, "I'm Ochako, and I should really hurry on in, good luck!" she introduced herself and wished you good luck, before hopping past you and continuing on

"You too." you waved after her, a bit bemused. You stared at her back for a moment before looking back at the green haired boy who was still just standing there. You snorted in amusement, and then followed after the girl, Ochako, you wanted to get in and get a good seat for the practical exams.

You made your way into the academy and were directed into a large hall. And by large, you meant gargantuan. So large in fact, there were over a thousand desks set up for students taking the exam.

You ended up with a seat near the middle, and sat quietly awaiting for the exam papers to be passed out and then for the exam to begin.

And when it did, you were in for quite the endeavour. You were not at all expecting what you were presented with. The exam wasn't just in regards to the hero profession. It was a multitude exam ranging from that to include mathematics, societal laws, language and more.

The exam took an entire two hours for you to complete, and the exam period ended barely half an hour later. By time you dragged yourself out of the massive hall, you were already feeling exhausted.

'I should have studied a bit more.' you moaned internally in self deprecation. You totally flubbed that exam, you think you'd be lucky to score a seventy five. You were pretty sure you got enough to pass, but you doubted you scored anywhere near the top on that exam.

In the last few months leading up to this point, you had barely studied at all, focusing more on your combat ability and quirk powers because you thought it was more important.

By god were you wrong.

You followed the directions you were given, following along the other students to the next destination. A large dark assembly hall filled with with rows upon rows of seats. At each row, was the name of a middle school, with and in front of each seat was a name plaque.

You caught sight of twelve people you could name from your old middle school when you got to the row, noting Kendo and Tokoyami amongst the group.

'Damnit.' you nose drew up in distaste when you found your name. And sitting in the seat right next to yours, was a familiar boy with wild purple hair and tired purple eyes.

Shinso

He spared you one glance as you sat down at your seat, eyes narrowing at you for a second before huffing and looking down at the stage at the bottom of the assembly hall.

'He's not worth it.' you told yourself, and ignored him looking down at the stage yourself. Specifically, your eyes settled tall, thin blonde man dressed in black standing atop the stage, in front of a massive screen that was displaying the U.A Logo.

Present Mic.

"Hello everybody!" Present Mic spread his arms wide and declared, a massive grin on his face, "Welcome to my show today! Everybody say hey!"

Complete silence followed, not one person responded to his call. You winced, poor guy. What a tough crowd.

Present Mic sighed, "...What a refined response..." he shrugged, and pointed a finger into the air, " Then I suppose I'll quickly present to you the rundown on the practical exam! Are you ready!?"

Once again, only silence followed his loud call. You had half a mind to cheer back yourself and throw the poor guy a bone.

To his credit, Present Mic's yellow sunglasses gleamed and he continued on unperturbed, "As it says on the applications requirements, you listeners will be conducting ten minute mock urban battles after this!" he explained, spreading his arms wide as the screen lit up behind him and displayed seven different squares labelled from A to G, "After the presentation you'll head to the specified battle centre, okay? You'll find your battle centre listed on a piece of paper under your seats, please check them out kiddies!"

Eyebrows raising in interest, you reached under your seat and felt around, a moment later feeling paper touching your fingers and pulled it out. It was just a small rectangular piece of paper, and on it was a picture of you and your student ID, alongside a large golden 'B' letter were displayed. And on the back of it, was a print out that looked like four shadowed out robots, labelled from A to D.

"G, huh?" you heard the prick beside you mumble as he looked at his own.

'So it's most likely randomized then so friends from the same school can't help each other out.' you concluded.

A moment later, the large screen behind Present Mic changed again, displaying a pixelated city and three shadowed out machines surrounding it. Three of them looking exactly like the ones on the back of the paper in your hand.

"Three different types of faux villains are stationed in each of the battle centers. You can earn points for each of them based on their level of difficulty," Present Mic spoke up again, explaining, and as he did, letters appeared above each shadowed out faux villain, 1P, 2P and 3P, which meant they gave one point, two points and three points individually each. Pretty straightforward, "Your goal dear listeners is to use your quirks to earn points by immobilizing the faux villains. Though of course, attacking other examinees and any other unheroic actions are prohibited!"

"May I ask a question!" someone suddenly spoke up, and you looked over to see a tall, glasses wearing boy with short navy hair standing up from his seat, arm raised into the air, "On the print out there are four types of villains! If that is a misprint, then U.A, the most prominent school in Japan, should be ashamed of such a foolish mistake!"

'Ugh.' you rolled your eyes. What an uptight annoyance.

"We examinees are here because we wish to be molded into exemplary heroes!" he continued, before suddenly shifting around and  pointing at someone up behind him, "In addition, you over there with the curly hair! You've been muttering this whole time! It's distracting! If you're here on a pleasure trip then you should leave immediately!"

"I-I'm sorry!" a high pitched voice apologized shakily, and all around the large assembly hall people burst into laughter. You looked closer, and you were surprised to see it was the green haired boy from earlier, an utterly mortified look on his face as he ducked his head low in an effort to avoid looking at everyone laughing at him.

Your eyes narrowed.

You opened your mouth, about to rebuke the glasses wearing boy yourself and put an end to his nonsense, before stopping yourself.

It was hardly hero material to humiliate someone like that, and glasses was making far more of a commotion than the green haired boy.

...But. You shouldn't have to stand up for him here. This is U.A, the premiere hero school. The best of the best, and every applicant here was attempting become a hero. If green hair couldn't even stand up for himself here, how could he stand up and protect others?

So, you held your tongue and let the laughter play out. And to your disappointment, the green haired boy did not rebuke the boy back and merely kept trying to avoid the laughter and refuse to meet anyone's eyes in shame.

You sighed.

"Okay, okay, calm down," Present Mic ordered, and everyone settled down, then he turned his attention on the glasses wearing boy, and flashed him a  thumbs up, "Now, examinee number 7111. Thanks for the great message. The fourth type of villain is worth zero points. That guys an obstacle so to speak. There's one in every battle center. An obstacle that will go crazy in narrow spaces. It's not impossible to defeat, but there's no reason to defeat it either so I recommend that all you lovely listeners try and avoid it."

"Thank you very much!" Glasses bowed deeply, "Please excuse the interruption!" he said and sat back down.

You crossed your arms and frowned. 'You'd think he'd have got reprimanded for an attitude like that, not praised.' you thought to yourself. He just got a boy humiliated for doing the exact same thing he did and a hero gave him a thumbs up for it?

"That's all from me kiddies!" Present Mic gestured out widely with his arms, "Though, I'll tell you guys all one last thing to keep in mind. The U.A motto. Go Beyond! Plus Ultra! Now Good luck!"

Your eyes narrowed as you examined him, 'I didn't think U.A would have crap like this as well.' you noted. Blatant favouritism to the strong.
