As to why the action is top notch, it's mainly due to the action director: Koichi Sakamoto. He's one of the best in tokusatsu action choreography. He's mostly known for his action work on Power Rangers, especially during the first two eras. He's pretty much one of the few folks who has worked on the Big 4 (Kamen Rider, Super Sentai, Power Rangers, and Ultraman).
