these early comics with scanned text from my typewriter have an unconscious emphasis on certain words, and other times the words blur, your mind drifting off halfway through a sentence.
the lucky accidents of film and the physical, imperfect type helped create a feeling like the world was unformed, like we were finding something in the fog. it was right there, we could see the outline of it.
sometimes it was a monster, sometimes it was a lonely machine.
