this was the first A Softer World comic, both online and in the photocopied zine that we originally created. We stayed up late in the 24 hour photocopy shop, with a stack of Emily's photos and my typewriter. (in case we needed to change something or write out a title. we didn't type out the comics at the shop. we weren't MONSTERS.) and we laughed at our own jokes and emily's baby pictures and we had no idea other people would like it at all.
there was a magazine, which shall remain nameless, that published some early Softer World comics. they published most as they were submitted, but for this comic they suggested an alternate punchline. their suggestion was, "can i have my testicles back now, please?" we declined. our integrity was paramount! also Wednesday was a girl cat.
we changed a bunch of the comics to all have that punchline for april fools that year.
