Tyche's Penance

When Tyche followed Anne into Faerie, one of her friends was Dream Haven's shining star, Minerva was still funneling information through various channels in order to keep the city and the world safe, and she had a boyfriend she loved.

Her time in Faerie was not exactly a vacation: the powers she'd lived with for thirty years were ripped from her, she was tortured for months, and had to build her broken body back up by grit and will. When, eventually, she was rescued, she still nearly lost Network, and some of the damage her friend suffered would never heal.

Worse, Lady Quantum had suffered systematic character attacks, badly shaking her confidence, Minerva was dead, and her boyfriend... her boyfriend was gone because she hadn't been there to protect him.

Back in Dream Haven, Tyche has returned to practicing in her private gym. The gym has been enchanted to protect it from external powers and surveillance from the outside; inside, it blocks metahuman powers, magic, and disrupts electrical and high-energy patterns, preventing the use of most advanced technology. Tyche drives her body to exhaustion, pushing her muscles until the sweat runs down her body and she can barely stand. Then, still staggering, Tyche runs through kata and combat drills.

She never picks up after weight training, anymore, treating the dropped weights and equipment as an additional obstacles to help her hone her spatial awareness.

There was bad and good with this video; the bad mainly has to do with timing: I messed up the timing of the two tai chi poses and the final kick. On the plus side, though, the positioning of her hands and feet are pretty darned solid. I especially love the speed and power of her first two kicks, which are even better because I managed to pose them without resorting to pre-made animations.

Now, my next animation goal is to get a bigger memory card. Or two.

Tyche's Penance was made in DAZ3D in three layers and compiled in Blender.
