2024-11-28 17:27:49 +0000 UTCPlaying Chord Progressions "easy" on Piano/Push/Guitar in any key: I'm currently trying to get my head around "organically" playing piano a little more for improvisation. However I'm still in the process of learning scales, which is pretty hard. So I'm wondering if there are techniques/patterns we can apply (or you know) to create chord progressions easy and fast in any key. I'm thinking of a video series that covers something like using inversions in a easy way to cover a lot of chords from pretty much "one" position on the piano/guitar/push (with respect to the circle of fiths) that can help us to improvize or to help us jam along without really thinking too much which keys are within the scale being used. This could be maybe a mini series of video tutorials for different instruments. Do you know what I mean?😊 That would be super helpful!

2024-11-28 17:17:48 +0000 UTCHey Buddy! Might be getting a little old school here but I would love to have a look inside of your "Berlin I" (and maybe share the project with us?🥲). First track I heard when it came out and still gives me goosebumps. Fanboy since then. This would be a dream come true🫠Keep rocking!

2024-11-24 21:41:54 +0000 UTCIt is more the composition/performance angle. The question I want to answer for myself is what workflow options do I have to construct a layered arp construction on the fly. Just guessing, I'd setup a template with a handful of cohesive sounds and start layering arps on one another. I'd want a series of initial phrases to start but then to let the performance evolve returning to each arp, however many there are, to vary the notes and rhythms something resembling a coherent manner. The emphasis would be controlling the emergent polyrhythms. I'm sensing my early variations would easily get out of control but that there are some workflow aspects to be discovered exploring this territory.

2024-11-24 21:21:09 +0000 UTCThat's a very cool interesting suggestion! Do you envision this through the lens of composing on Push, or just using Live as a whole from the computer vantage point?

2024-11-24 21:20:25 +0000 UTCLet me build on your arpeggio idea. I'd be interested in a "starting from nothing" style set that incorporates arp driven polyrhythms. Slowly evolving arps that are tweaked, real time, allowing the polyrhythms to emerge. Drum sounds might be optional. Take inspiration from Steve Reich's Drumming (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uDhwFTw4VnI).

2024-11-24 16:06:29 +0000 UTCExcellent suggestions! There’s a whole lot of vids on chords. I might need to gather them up in the Push chords folder or make them easier to find
