Nero rework

Today I have my therapy, so I won't have a lot of time to work, I wanted to sketch Nero for today's daily sketch, but I realized I really should rework him (AGAIN) becasue he evolved so much in my head and I feel like I'm closer to being able to flesh him out the way I want than ever before.
Nero was first drawn by me in feral form and was supposed to simply be a feral Wolverine mix with Jaffar (you can see the first art here), but he grew one me and developed a special personality so I decided to turn him into an OC :)
What changed? Quite a few things!
· dad bod keeps improving, although I am certain he will keep getting more meat once I start drawing him regularly again. I am still new to this bodyshape and need more practice to get it right. But you get where he's going ;D
· I used to draw a lot of feral genitalia, but I realize now that I am much more invlined towards regular genitalia for anthros. So now he's gonna have a regular human dic. Also, casue of bulges!
· His face is more masive to match his body, not as slender but rather flat, with the bigger part of his jaw being the front part. Mustache-whiskers are not optional :D Underbite, flat forehead, receiding hairline and a withered mane, grizzled mane and hair, smol ears
· a long tail that he is too lazy to pick up, so it just mops the floor behind him as he walks
· black pawpads
· warmer tones for the darker parts of his fur
· always wearing a golden signet on his smol finger
Overall sexy af, although not in a mainstream kind of way. Resting bitch face is a must.

Here are all the characters Nero has been influenced by.
You might think he's an antho Scar, but truly Scar I used the least, I love the character but he was so scrawny... Also not inspired by Sher-Kahn from Tailspin, I never even saw that cartoon untiul after Nero was created and people kept telling me he reminds them of him! ;w; AAAAA
Wolverine, Jaffar, Thanos, Tony Soprano, General Grievous (yes, really)
As for General Grievous, I always pictured this is how Nero would walk, and the coughing. Oh lord, I loved it. Now I am torn between making him this slightly bent over, constantly low energy, coughing dude, or on the contrary - up-tight, confident but silent, proud and explosive. I am constantly constantly torn... I think currently I am more invlined towards the proud and explosive mix though. the coughing might still be there, casue it's too good to let go.
Anyway I hope you like the rework! I am happy with how he evolved and lord am I happy that I made this rework instead of starting to draw him in the comic back in 2015!

2021-05-27 22:56:18 +0000 UTCthanks!! Yeah I think I will keep on working on the 'rework' a bit more when I have some more time. I think I want to expand the mane too, to go over his shoulders. He looks a bit too bald now haha :D And as for loosing foreskin, is not an option with me. I only ever enjoy men au naturelle ;D I am not sure about the sheath or not. His design seems to fit having the sheath, but more realistic genitalia make for better bulges. Oh the choices. :) Thanks a lot! As he became more masive I feel that a stronger jawline is the better way to go to fit hius posture! :)

The lower section especially; human genitalia is more appealing in my opinion, and I like how through the 3 examples above his thighs seem to become a bit more toned. Could keep or lose the foreskin. Mid section I like how he has a bit more tummy, making his chest seem to fit in better. Finally, depending on how you'll end up evolving the character, the new jawline might be just right. One thing though, I really like his mane/hair in the earlier drawings.
